NFL Total Access has been airing a series of video diaries by various NFL players. Tonight they had the second part from the center of the Titans. There was a short segment with Vince Young that showed his locker with a huge monitor with Xbox 360.

I suppose it's the state of the league at this point but, and I admit I'm not a big fan of Young's in the first place, it would really annoy me to see the starting qb of my team placing such importance on video games. I understand that players love games as much as anyone else but for some reason it really stood out to me.

While being one of the guys is a plus in some ways, I don't think I can imagine a scenario where say, Peyton Manning is engrossed in video games in the locker room. Maybe I'm making too much out of it but if the qb of my team had a hard time completing 50% of his passes I wouldn't be happy seeing him wasting time on video games. Gunners on special teams, kickers, punters and a whole slew of other positions I can see it as acceptable but I just can't wrap my mind around the qb just fartin' around. I think Tony Banks was a big video game fan.

One of the best player interviews EVER. Was Tony Banks talking about himself in the 3rd person.

"Tony Banks is gotta do what is best for Tony Banks"

Wow...that guy had more lives than a cat!

All the physical talent in the world but not much between the ears.

I don't have a problem with it one bit. What are you supposed to be learning in the locker room anyway? I mean if he were skipping watching film every week to be in his locker playing Madden, that's one thing.

Agreed. Vince is a great kid with enormous potential, and a natural leader.

No big deal to me. As others have already mentioned, as long as he's learning in the film room, meetings, etc., what's the big deal?

It doesn't really bother me since I'm not a Titans fan but his 5 for 17 performance last week in addition to his pedestrian numbers from last year might be a sign that he should be hittin' the books or film room as much as possible. As much as I hate Barry Bonds, Vince Young isn't to football what Barry is to baseball in terms of talent and production.

13 out of 19 tonight.

But it's only preseason so neither one means much.

VY will do well, I think. He'll post good #s. The question is will it be enough to help out the Titans. I'm not so sure.

I think he'll post good rushing #s, but his passing will be suspect. Vick part deux, at least for this year. The interesting thing will be to see if he can develop as a passer. I don't think he gets better (or too much better) this year, but he has the potential at least.

Vince has one great advantage......a brilliant offensive coach who has mentored and developed some outstanding cerebral QBs....Detmer, Palmer, Leinart and Rivers.

Well, we finally agree on something. I don't know if Vince is a "great kid", but he seems to be a leader who elevates his play when needed.

His talents are scary good and he's cool under pressure.

Did you see his game last night? Wow. I know, I know, it's still pre-season, but...

Yes I did, he is amazing, I'm a big fan of Mr. Vince Young. I was also priviledged to see his performance at the Rose Bowl, even though he ran all over us....I don't hate, hate, hate anyone because of the university they come out of - and I can certainly respect and admire talent.....even if he is a Longhorn, a Sooner or a Domer. That is one of the pleasant advantates of being on top......you can enjoy and appreciate true, breath-taking talent without being clouded by hate or jealousy.

One other thing we agree on Skkorp, I love Notre Dame and look forward to them returning to their former glory......may they win every game but one.
