Last week's athlete of the week crown went to Vanguard softball standout Jaelynne Whipple. Her power and consistency helped her earn 44% of the over 12,000 votes casted.

With a new class of hitters going yard this week the voting may come down to the wire. We have county weightlifitng champs, starting pitchers throwing shutouts, and a flag footballers with game defining performances joining them too.

You can vote for your favorite athlete once per hour. Please share the poll on social media so friends and family can get in on the action. Voting will close Thursday at 4:59 p.m.
