Not much support for KW coming in from Cardinal fans.

KW ranks as #8 all-time QBs in the new QBR forumula. For post-season he is #3 QBR.

He holds the top 1, 2, and 3 spots all-time for passing yards in a Superbowl game.

He took not one but two medicore franchises to the Superbowl. All he needed was a good WR or two (or M. Faulk at RB). There's no way the Cards would have even come close to the SB without KW. The other QBs had great teams surrounding them---it wasn't all on their individual shoulders. Imagine if KW was playing with our current defense.

Vote for KW!

I still think Otto Graham, Joe Montana, KW 1, 2 and 3.

(Edit: and truthfully Marino was the best pure QB who ever lived, he just didn't win enough)

So even by those statistics he isn't the best QB of all time. He was a great QB, but these polls are kind of pointless if people are just going to vote for their favorite instead of the actual best.

Warner was lucky not great. He had Isaac Bruce and Torrey Holt in St.Louis and Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin in Arizona. Without those great receivers he sucked. Just look at how bad he was in NY. :D

Russell Wilson beat out Payton Manning! This has become a popularity contest. It makes the whole thing just plain stupid. Rich Gannon beats Brett Farve. Makes you wonder about the intelligence of the average fan. At least we have many smart posters here. This may very well be the most intelligent collection of football fans anywhere.

As much as I love KW, he isn't the greatest or even in the top 10. Not enough of a body of work unfortunately.

EVERY QB who has success had some great players around him. By that measure, they all sucked. My point is that Warner did more with less than any other QB. Can you name another QB who had less talent who made it to the SB---there was good reason the media hammered the Cards as the worst team to reach the SB. As to the Giants, in 2003 they finished at 4-12. In 2004 when Warner was brought in to start, they were at 5-4 when Coughlin made the move to start Eli Manning. Warner had that 4-12 team with a chance for the playoffs. The Giants finished at 6-10. It was a move they was successful later as Eli matured.

You answered your own question. Eli Manning. BTW don't be so uptight. My post was intended to be humorous. Hence the big smiley at the end.

Kurt Warner was better than Marino, Manning and Brady just to name a few? :doi:

Kurt Warner was better then Manning and Brady. Can't wait to see this solely stat based argument from a guy who's probably never watched an actual game in his life.

still want to make that ridiculous argument about how anyone with a brain would take RG3 over Andrew Luck, slin?

Warner was my homer pick, I took some liberties putting him @ # 3. Mostly because he took two bad franchises to SB's. I did say, however, that Marino was the best pure passer I ever saw play--he just didn't win enough. Otto Graham had a winning percentage of .814 and won 114 games with only 20 losses. He also took his team to the Championship game 10 straight years, winning 7 Championships. In an era where they didn't pass a whole lot he still holds the record for average yards gained per pass attempt. Nobody else compares.

I think he was being sarcastic toward me with that first part.

If I'm not mistaken, until last season, Bobby Layne was the career passing yards leader for Detroit and Sid Luckman for Chicago Bears. I don't know if anyone will ever surpass Jim Hart as the Cards leader because Hart played for the Cards for 18 seasons.

Warren Moon was the best pure passer I ever saw. Not saying he was overall as good as Marino but Moon's name should really be in play when honestly talking about QB greats in my opinion :)

Agree. Warren Moon wasn't given a chance early on in his football career---racism by the NFL owners toward black QBs. He spent time playing ball in Canada before getting his break in the NFL. He QB'd some awful teams---but still still threw for lots of yards. If his whole career had been spent in the NFL, he'd be among the top career QBs stat wise (if not W-L wise).

Despite that "racism" Warren Moon played 16 years in the NFL finishing up for the Chiefs when he was 44 years old and is 5th all time in career passing yards. I was at an Oilers game sitting on the 7th row one Sunday when Moon threw a pass so hard that it bent Drew Hill over at the waist. Hell of a catch too.
