We're just getting things started for the spring of 2025 and the Petoskey News-Review Athlete of the Week brought to you by Harbor Brenn Insurance Agencies and Auto Owners insurance is back!
All results come from Monday, April 7 through Saturday, April 12. Look for Athlete of the Week to start back up as spring sports begin around the area.

The Rams are off to a 4-0 start and Richardson was a big reason why. She went 9 of 10 with nine RBIs, nine runs scored, a double and a homer the first week.
Aenis brought a big stick to the plate the first few games, going 5 for 9 with three doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored for EJ.
Speigl is already making an impact on his new Northmen team. In the first week he batted .583 with a double, three triples, four RBIs and eight runs scored.
Baseball: The area high school baseball players to know as 2025 season begins
Running in Freeland over the weekend, Bailey started the season off with a second place finish in the 200 (26.49), set a new PR in third in the 400 (1:00.60) and helped the 4x200 team to a win (1:46.31).
A big fall has instantly turned into a big spring for Eaton. He won the 800 in the Yooper Indoor Invite in a new PR (2:00.49), was second in the 3,200 in a new PR (9:51.69) and helped the 4x400 relay team to a second place finish.

Noble didn’t wait long to make a big showing in 2025, netting a hat-trick three goals in a 5-1 win over Kingsley.
Competing on game day for the first time with PHS, VerCautren has Petoskey off to a 5-0 start. She batted .400 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored over the weekend, then also pitched seven innings, allowed just three hits and struck out nine in a win.

Harbor Springs has looked strong to begin the 2025 season and Warren scored in each of the first two games for the Rams.
