The Oregon high school boys wrestling state championships wrapped up earlier this month and plenty of athletes from the Salem-Keizer area produced big performances at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Here are the nominees for the top Salem-area boys wrestler for the 2024-25 season.

Carson Langford, Dallas
The Dragons' standout freshman capped off his season by capturing the Class 5A 190-pound title by 15-1 major decision.

Brash Henderson, Silverton
After winning the Class 5A 285-pound title as a junior, Henderson finished as the 5A runner-up at 190 as a senior this winter.

Sully Hill, Dallas
Hill reached the Class 5A 132-pound state final and finished as runner-up to cap off a breakout senior season.
Matthew Hinkle, Cascade
After falling in the Class 4A 190-pound state final as a sophomore in 2024, Hinkle returned in 2025 and captured the 215 title. He won the final bout by fall.
Devin Huston, Willamina
Huston entered the Class 3A state meet as the No. 2 seed at 150 pounds and delivered a strong showing to finish as the state runner-up.

Kenya Johnson, Sprague
Johnson, a multisport star for the Olympians, got his first-ever state title by winning the Class 6A 190-pound championship by a 5-2 decision.
Hans Kamm, Cascade
After reaching the 126-pound state final as a freshman, Kamm made the jump to the 144 division this winter and won the Class 4A title by 8-0 major decision.
Leonardo Michel, Stayton
The Eagles' standout junior reached the Class 4A 138-pound final before falling by 15-2 major decision.

Sullivan Puckett, Sprague
Puckett closed out his decorated prep career by finishing as the Class 6A runner-up at 165 pounds at the state meet.

Bo Zurcher, Silverton
Zurcher produced one of the more thrilling moments of this year's OSAA state championships when he landed a match-shifting takedown with just eight seconds left in the third round to capture the Class 5A 165-pound title.
