We probably would have taken Robert Gallery #1

Oakland took Gallery over Fitz by one pick in 2004. Fabian Washington over Aaron Rodgers by one pick in 2005 and JaMarcus Russell over Calvin Johnson by one pick in 2007. Maybe we didn’t have it so bad.

I never liked the "tanking" philosophy either, But if I was an Owner/GM and sitting at 2-9... and there was a Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck type.... I think my thoughts on the process could be revisited.

I see it as cheating the fans, and REALLY cheating the guys who are on the team at the time. Very uncool, should never be done, ever. That said, proving a bad team is tanking is basically impossible.

Personally, the fans will be over it the minute Manning (in your scenario) is drafted. As far as players...... they get paid and I wouldn't feel very sorry for them.

And I am very sure that Colts fans thought the season before Luck (when Manning was out) sucked. But I would rather crater once thane be mediocre for 5 to 6 years in the 10 to 15 range.

Two positions..... neither is wrong.

True, it's just how I see it. Not exactly a superior moral being here, just giving my opinion.
