When I first saw the trailer the opening sequence was Gekko receiving his property during his release from prison. It doesn't yet show him but I assumed it was going to be some type of stupid comedy. Nope instead it's going to be a stupid drama.

Seriously. 23 years between sequels?

I wouldn't mind this becoming a standard. Most sequels are awful because they don't take time to flesh out a good story. They just rush everything to capitalize on being in public consciousness. That so many people still have strong feelings about this movie 23 years later says they did something right the first time. Gordon Gecko is one of the most memorable and seemingly real movie characters maybe of my lifetime. Gecko has defined 30 years of Wall Street behavior.

23 years is nothing...

How about 28 years?

Tron (1982)
Tron Legacy (2010)

So psyched for it.

Pretty good movie. Ran a little long and I wasn't a fan of the ending but it was a solid movie, definitely worth seeing in theatres. Funny enough the relationship story seemed to drag but was by far the most important story in the movie. Whenever Gordon Gekko was on screen the movie was at it's best. Also Frank Langella was absolutely fantastic in this movie.

Upon further review, back in the day, it was memorable. Judges accept it.

Just from a character perspective, it's hard to argue that over the past 20 years or so, the Gecko's of Wall Street were plentiful, and his mindset was rampant throughout lower Manhattan. Heck, there were - and still are - a million Gordon Geckos running around Wall Street, thinking they are the King of the World. :bang:

True. I also liked Boiler Room with Giovani Ribisi and Vin Diesel. Good show.
