They wanted him to start but offered him backup money.

The Ravens knew Jeff's tendencies, McAllister said he knew certain routes that Blake likes to go to in certain situations. Tom Knight moved Chris on the TD INT because he said he knew the Cards ran a certain play in that situation regularly, we ran it, he threw it, TD McAllister.

So I think you're both right, yes they knew things about Jeff but it wasn't that he lacked fire in his eyes or leadership it was that he tends to go to his TE in certain spots and they sat on that.

My main thing with Blake is he's in a no win, if he eats the ball when nobody is open, people will say he's taking sacks to preserve his stats(like Lex did). If he forces throws and gets picked, he sucks. I'm perfectly fine with 125 yards passing if we win, a lot of people clearly aren't.

Prospective writers please take notice:

1) If you want to write, have a thin skin;
2) People read and respond to Walter because he's interesting and respected. All you can ask for as a writer is to be read;
3) Don't be bashful. Make your points strongly;
4) Polite disagreement, in my opinion, is one of the highest compliments you can make to a writer. It means you read and considered his/her points carefully and took the time to disagree.

Here on ASFN, if you know football and have a point to make, but aren't the world's greatest writer, I'll publish you anyway, even if I don't give you lead story status.

We are not professionals. We care more deeply about sincerity and our football team than the pros do.

So, if you have the itch to write, let me know.

Blake is a second tier quarterback... and right now he's a second tier quarterback on a badly coached team. Reagardless of how you want to couch it, he's not playing well.
