We need a QB who can take this offense to the next level and Josh just doesn't have it. Do you think the WR's on this team believe in Josh? There
sure seemed to be alot of finger pointing by wideouts last season, probably
adding to his benching. The kid couldn't even start a freaking SMU, one of
the worst college football teams in the country. Look at the Qb's Denny had
running his offense in Minnesota: Culpepper, Brad Johnson, George, Moon,
Cunningham and Salisbury. With the exception of our ESPN anchor those guys
were all very good QB's. Running a pass first offense takes a pretty smart &
talented guy to make it work. If you think Josh can do it maybe you need to
get out your tapes from last year and watch McClown again.

Yeah and he sucks so bad that Denny kept him on the roster (and tagged him with the middle tender). Maybe he develops into a good QB maybe he doesn't. Who knows?

There is a difference between criticism of a player and biased stupidity. You are showing the latter.

Your opinion about McCown doesn't bother me. As it is your opinion. But is there really any need for these 'clever' nick names?

This isn't put directly at you Bucky, as I have seen a few people do it. But I wonder if these people would be so keen to call McCown such names if they weren't behind a computer.

So in your opinion our coach is a moron right? I mean it was his decision to start him last year, it was also his decision to keep him here.

Hey maybe we should get John Navarre to start with that great start he had last year compiled with the 0-6 outing he had Saturday. Or better yet lets go get Damon Huard who went 1 for 12 against us because as we all know every QB in the entire league is better than Josh McCown:sarcasm:

As of now Josh is a good backup that may eventually turn into a good starter. He has the potential to be good its up to him to take that next step.

Running a pass first offense takes a pretty smart &
talented guy to make it work. If you think Josh can do it maybe you need to

and maybe you need to watch the 2nd rams game from last year (remember the one where he was responsibe for 4 TDs). Amazing how people forget that game isn't it? Maybe it was the defense btu then again maybe it was Josh finally showing what he can do.

NOT ALL PLAYERS DEVELOP AT THE SAME SPEED. For every Big Ben there is a Rich Gannon or a Jake Delhomme. He may reach his potential outside of the Cardinal organization, he might show it this year if given the opportunity. The truth of the matter is I don't know and neither do you everything that says eitherwise is just speculation/opinion and nothing more

Our problems on offense last season weren't all the fault of one guy even if some people want to make it out that way.

We will see. Your opinion against mine. Bottom line in this salary cap era, he
has to produce. I think DG bringing in Kurt tells us all we need to know.
I'm not here to argue.

Green might have brought him in because he thinks Josh is not yet ready. I don't know what'll happen. I'm just sick of "Josh is the worst QB ever and he will not be in the league next season" crap. I'm not disagreeing that he should have done better last season, I disagree with the other extremist statements said on here (i.e. Josh is the worst Qb in the league and will be selling insurance next year) and the unneccessary insults (i.e. McClown)

Fine don't like the guy but the insults are unneccessary and very childish.

I'm not here to argue.

Yes you are, we all are. If we didn't disagree on occassion this board would be very boring :p

:biglaugh: that was funnt
He is just an average QB , at best! If he wasn't on the Cards, no one here would even know who he is or care if he could be a good QB...cuz he's not going to be..the Gannon comparison cracked me up too

He wound up 12 for 23 and 99 yards and no TD's or picks (which translates to 24 for 46 and 178 yards, 0 TD's and no picks for an entire game).

Wow at that pace he will be 384 for 736 for 2848 yards and 0 TD and 0 INT on the whole year!

C'mon Jeff, you know better than to get into "at his currect pace" assessments.

I think Shipp should have been in there to help out a balanced attack. Arrington isnt as good as Marcel

A little to early to be saying Shipp is better than Arrington. I love Shipp but I want to see if he is going to produce when the real bullets start flying. Shipp doesnt have the ability to take it to the house. Arrington has that kind of homerun potential.

truth is

for Warner or McCown, or Shipp or JJ it doesn't matter if they produce. I don't care which QB throws thw TD passes as long as it gets done. Same with our RB's. It doesn't matter and I don't think anyone can argue that. As long as they get it done. The key however, is moving the chains. None of the four is worth squat if they don't move the chains. Trust me, whichever QB or RB is getting it done, everyone here will be behind and chearing for.

Maybe you should go back and tell us about the greatness that is AJ Feeley. Remember "he's a winner". Exactly how many wins did he lead the Dolphins to? ;)

I never said anything about Josh being great. All I've said is that he has the potential to become good (whether he ever lives up to it is up to him) and that the problems with the offense weren't ALL his fault (a concept you've had a difficult time understanding)

That would be nice, but it won't happen for some.

If McCown or Shipp are doing well, their "haters" will just slither away waiting for the opportunity to pounce.

Just a note of correction: McCown was the starter at QB his junior year. At the time he left SMU (before his senior year) McCown was 4th or 5th all time SMU statistical leader at QB.

Actually, since Arrington hasn't played a down in the NFL when live bullets are flying, I think it's a little early to be saying Arrington is better than Shipp.

naw, i'm not a fan of either. as a starter. mccown . . . just not sure he can step in for a lot of games, but he could be a good one game stop-gap. love shipp, but again, not as a starter. and if they both end up great, i'll be stoked and eat my crow. i've done it before, i'll be happy to do it again.

Well... I'm still inclined to believe your approach will prove an exception. :)

Actually McCown was benched at SMU halfway through his junior season because of excessive turnovers. And when he left the school, he had a 51% completion percentage to go along with 27 TDs and 36 INTs. Not exactly All American numbers.
