Let Navarre finish the season for the experience and to see what he's got.
*sigh*

I guess you're right. This sucks, though. What a frustrating football season.

I think it is really a meaningless debate who starts. McCown and Navarre will both eventually amountot nothing for the Cardinals, Josh's amounting to nothing will just come a bit sooner than Navarre's.

I guess just start Boldin at QB, that would at least be exciting for the fans!!!!!!!

What is the point of starting McCown? To up his free agancy value? Its been determined he is not coming back in the off season with the Warner verbal commitals coming from the brass. It' s not even in our best interests to win these next two games so why dont we least see if Navarre prepping with the first team all week can be half way effective and is worthy of filling the 3rd QB next year behind Warner and a rookie or FA. No one should be expecting him to blow up. Lets just see if hes even worth the roster space.

McCown should/is done here. There is no reason we should keep playing him as we have established he is not the starting QB this team needs goping forward. My biggest fear is he will have a good couple games against a bad team and a second string team and the Cardinals will be duped to signing him into a contract with Warners injury looking bad. Not only that he will ruin our draft position with none of the benefit of having a player develop confidence for next year.

Navarre is the smart coaches choice....Which of course puts all kinds of doubt into my mind

Green said McCown will start. Many of you who live out of town are not getting the QB picture right.

The buzz is this - We will re-sign Warner (he has said he wants to finish his career here) and let both McCown and Navarre go.

Thats fan Buzz though. There is no evidence from this organization that they wont ask McCown back or try to sign him as a worthy back-up behind Warner.

I don't understand how they've determined he's out for the year already. Don't they usually wait to do an MRI on Monday to announce these sort of things? Warner did "stand" on the sidelines the whole second half.

Also, does anyone know the severity of a sprained MCL? I always forget which ligament is the baddy(ACL, MCL or PCL). If it's just sprained, it seems like he could play if he had to. I guess it really doesn't matter at this point so they don't want to get him hurt.

Then I would be on the fire DG bandwagon. There is no point keeping McCown on this team. He isnt the QBOF, he has had his chances. Let him go and see if he can play somewhere else!

Are you telling m eyou would rather have Navarre as your back-up? Rather than a guy that has shown an ability to perform at this level, knows the offense, and would come cheap?

What I am telling you is that McCown is NOT the QBOF here. If the Cards resign Warner I want whoever behind him to be our QBOF. McCown is not it.

And although you make think so, his "ability to perform at this level" is very questionable, and his inability to read a defense is undeniable.

Do you honestly think Denny is going to tak ethe preverbial QBOF? I hope so but I doubt it.

This is a sports injury, so he would be able to stand on the sidelines fine. It is a sprain, but all that really means is it is a lesser degree tear.

Ligaments connect bones to bones. The ACL connects your femur to your tibia and it restricts your tibia from going too far forward. MCL, same thing but from going too far to the side. PCL stops hyperextension.

Any of the 3 of them take time to come back from.

You have that right. Perhaps Green is thinking Josh will play lights out and we can sign him for another three years. That is about how our luck would turn. Even better JJ will run for 200 yds. I think I read in the paper today we ran for an incredable 32 yards against Houston. That should be some sort of record. We may be the worst running team ever in the NFL for all I know. I wonder what the record is. I would think we are now below 60 yards a game which sounds like record territory. With all our needs how are we going to fill them? RB's not RB, O Lineman, QB's not QB. In all my decades of watching the Cards I do not know if I have ever seen us starting a season next year with so many needs.

39 yards on 15 carries and that includes 2 runs by Navarre.

Not even the worst performance this weekend, Tampa had 18 carries for 30 yards including a monumental 14 carry 23 yard effort by Cadillac.
