IMO a decision is looming for Warner. It appears they are holding out and trying to drive up the price on the bidding war. If you read between the lines it appears they are holding out for the highest bidder. It's only a matter of time now until they choose a format IMO.

Most interesting comments:

"Warner Home Video president Ron Sanders has now basically put the TotalHD format on the shelf"

"We’re talking to both sides and it’s crazy right now. We remain committed to both for the time being."

Mmmmmm.

Great, now I can post here.

It will be interesting to see how long Warner holds out for. Tease.

It's like any other bidding war I think. They are going to try and drive up the price as high as possible. They probably already know which way they would like to go. They are just using the other party to drive up the price to get more money out of it.

I think they are ready to go HDDVD. But would like an additional 50M out of them. (which they might get)

LMAO. Kurt Warner Swings Tide of Dual Format War.

If you believe that, I've got some beachfront property in the North Pole to sell you...

It's not over but if Warner does go HD DVD this clearly gives HD DVD the upper hand. Maybe we get lucky and this starts an avalanche of support on way or the other.

Dreamcast implied that the war was already over without Warner picking a side, and that is FAR from the truth, no matter how much of a homer he is for the HD-DVD side.

MESA! :thud:
I THINK you mis-interpreted DCR's post. I thought he's been firmly in the "it's not over" camp, while azsouthendzone has said all along it's OVER. Then in here azsez said if this happens it "may be over". I think DCR was calling him out on that.

But, I could be completely wrong, too! :) I just thought I remembered them going back & forth on it awhile back.

edit: found it:

That's going extreme. I think that this would mean that both formats will be around for a long, long time.
