...Did not play well yesterday. I expected to log on to the board this morning and see people calling for Leinart to start next week.

They'll get around to it. Right now they're busy firing Dennis Green, spending 10 million dollars, and changing everyone's position. You can only do so much at one time. Maybe they'll get to that on Tuesday.

We would have stood a chance at overcoming the Seahawk defensive game plan with a "running QB". The middle was open for most of the day, as several other people posting on this board have pointed out.

I am not calling for Warner's head, yet we would have had a better chance yesterday with Leinart, IMHO.

It's sort of a stretch to call Leinart a "running QB."

When did Leinart officially become a "running QB" in people's minds? I guess those 2 runs against NE in the preseason?

Leinart is not a running QB he will take off when it's wide open but he's not exactly Bobby Douglass.

I guess I lumped Leinart in with Vick, which is not accurate. I should have said "a QB more mobile than a rock".

I guess I'm biased but I'd like Leinart to play, I don't think we'll suffer a drop off, what he lacks in experience, he makes up for somewhat with better leadership qualities, that and he's super smart and learns super fast.

Kurt stays IMO until he puts a couple 2 or 3 turnover games in a row, then it could come up.

The way Warner is taking a beating its just a matter of time before Leinart will be starting.

Unfortunately I agree. I think Leinart is as pro ready as any NFL rookie QB in years (although Jaworski said yesterday that Jay Cutler is more pro ready than Matt because he played more games in college and had to do more since his supporting cast sucked), but as bad as our OL is right now I'm not sure I want Matt playing.

And largely for reasons Kurt is being crucified for right now, the way this OL is playing teams are simply scheming to overload a side or spot and get a clear shot at Kurt. A veteran QB can see that and audible, something Wolfley commented on yesterday that because the plays are taking too long to come from the sideline, we don't have enough time to audible. Now Matt is smart as hell but he missed a lot of camp and I'm not comfortable with him out there having to audible with almost no time or get his head handed to him. Kurt's having trouble doing it with all his experience, I think it's unreasonable to expect Matt to do it yet.

2 things have to improve immediately, Rowen needs to get the damn plays in quicker, and the OL has to start playing together. Do that and Warner will have time to get to the line, see that they're overloading one side, and change the play. Wolfley pointed it out several times yesterday that Kurt either didn't have time to make the change, or was going with what was called because the OL was having so many problems he didn't want to confuse the issue.

Noise apparently wasn't a huge issue either. Not the whole time. Tony Siragusa(sp?) said he could hear all of Warner's audibles from his spot on the sideline so the false starts, in his opinion, weren't due to noise.

Well Calvisi on radio said in the first quarter that noise was a big problem that they were having all sorts of problems hearing the snap count etc.

Who knows but he mentioned it twice in the first half.

Do we NOT HAVE A HURRY UP Offense? My God we wasted TWO minutes with less than FIVE minutes to play waiting for plays to come in...as if we had NO INTENTION OR DESIRE to WIN... just get one more score so it would look better...DG gave up because "they are just a better team than us"...The last "effort" was sickening and so typical of this team over the years...did they not remember LAST WEEK when they alsmost got beat with LESS TIME on the clock? It was embarassing and I suspect that Macklin just may be back soon...oh yeah, and put Gorin back in... it seems we had some sort of BLOCKING when he was at RT.

AND... maybe it's time for Step to figure out that centers sometimes have to snap the ball beyond their ARSE and some practice may be required...or he should just hand the job to Lechey or Wells and find a seat on the sideline...

Considering the pass rush he got I thought he played very well.

I thought Warner was ok. A couple of times he clearly tried to force the ball. Of course that was when he didn't have a ton of ass in his face.

It is more than a stretch it is just not true. He would be dead meat if he tried to become a running QB. The best QB in the league is a stand in the pocket QB (Manning) and over the history of the game the majority of the great QB's have been pocket QB's. I think Warner has the third best QB rating of all time. Last week he either was runner up or the best QB of the week. Nothing wrong with Warner. Looking at Dallas and Washington last night I would not even consider changing QB's with them. Everyone knows what the problem is and it is the OL coupled with coaching.

With the way the OL played, I honestly can't blame Warner for his pretty poor game. He made some very stupid decisions, yes, but he was running for his life the whole time and took some pretty big hits. Dude was shellshocked. I was laughing when after he hit BJ for the TD and was jogging backwards and fell over the guy behind him. I told my wife then, "even when he gets off a great pass for a score, the poor guy still ends up on his ass."

It's going to piss me off next weekend when I hear the "We Want Leinart" chants in the stands (and I'm one of the biggest Matt supporters out there)...what they should chant is "We want an O-Line!" If we could get a "We Want an O-Line" chant going through that stadium that would send a good message. Chanting to bring in Leinart makes us look like idiots who don't recognize the actual problem...making us look like the coaching staff.

If I actually hear that crap next week I might have to injure someone. Kurt has shown ZERO reason to be benched. I would be totally embarrassed if the fans called for Matt two weeks after Kurt won offensive player of the week!

Certainly the o-line was a sieve, but six fumbles in two games is pathetic. And don't think we're going to keep getting lucky and recovering all of them too. This team is simply not good enough to turn the ball over a bunch in a game and escape with a W so the fumbling has got to stop or those calling for Leinart will be correct in doing so.

There were some "fans" in our section chanting for Leinart in the SF game...where he put up 300 and 3 TDs. Go figure.

I know there will be Leinart chants on Sunday, maybe from jump, because so many fans don't know anything about the game.

The only way I want to see Matt in right now is if Kurt gets hurt...and that should scare the hell out of Matt. We need a freaking Oline in the worst way.

Not after game 2 against the NFC champions. It would be one of the biggest overreactions possible at this point. I am almost certain you would lose have your football team.

Well, I'm not ion favor of benching Warner, but I wouldn't say there was "zero" reason. He didn't throw well even when he had time.

Warner does have a problem holding on to the ball, but when you are getting hit in the face AND blindsided from two other guys I can kind of understand. It's not like he's getting hit by one guy...he's getting hit by one guy while another is ripping his arms and another hitting him in the side.

His fumbles are a problem, but sometimes those balls are coming out regardless of who is holding them....we can't let that kind of defensive pressure surround the QB, no matter who it is.
