logically, if Shockey knew, Brees knew. If Brees knew, he has no business representing the players

It would be hard to think that Brees or for that fact any other player on the team did not know about it. Of course knowing and participating are very different. As a team leader I think Brees might have stepped up and told his team that this was really not an appropriate thing to be doing. I think he could have got away with it. It sure would be in his best interest because knocking out QB's appears to be a high value target. If one team has such an operation I would think the other team would be quick to retaliate in the same manner so just how many teams are involved? We will never know.

Whistleblower would be the proper term in this case.

That said; Shockey has denied he is the source and demanded an apology and retraction.

So far the NFL Network has merely said that they've discussed the issue with Sapp, and told him to stick to analysing and not reporting.

Fact remains that the NFLN did invite Sapp on air to repeat his earlier Tweet naming Shockey, and this attempt to whitewash themselves by admonishing Sapp is not likely to work.

I can see civil litigation lawyers lining up to take this one on.

hahaha you are right. In the corporate world it is whistleblower. In the street it is snitch. Warren Sapp would have probably done the same thing too if it came down to him losing his paycheck.
