Klowned by Keim
Full Disclosure: I watched the first half of the game in person with my son and the second half at home on DVR. My wife didn't extend the end time, so I missed the last four or five minutes of garbage time.
1. Carson Palmer, QB. I admit that I didn't see this coming. Palmer's been taking mental reps for three weeks, likely mostly worried about whether his career was in jeopardy. He likely couldn't even focus on getting and keeping his arm strong. He came in with a virtuoso performance protecting the football and moving the chains.
2. Larry Fitzgerald, WR. Everyone in the media wants Larry Fitzgerald to have a melt down. Not enough catches, makes too much money, may be too old. The truth is this: No one in the NFL makes catching a football look easier than #11 for the Arizona Cardinals. The long term problem is that he doesn't make getting open look as easy.
3. Chandler Catanzaro, K. This kid has just been nails. Nails. Young man didn't even kick in college really. Impressive find by Steve Keim and his staff.
1. Tyrann Mathieu, S. I'll do the film study breakdown of the Jackson TD catch later this week, I promise. I was interested in watching Tyrann in part because his number pops out on the field when you're at the game. I'm here to tell you that it was not Patrick Peterson's fault that Jackson scored that long TD. He expected Mathieu to be in position to make that play.
2. Deone Buchannon, S. The Cards have to figure out how to develop this guy as a coverage player along with his linebacker/run support play. Is it really possible that he doesn't have a single pass defensed on the season, despite all the snaps that he's played?
3. Rob Housler, TE. Hello The Dude my old friend. The Goats list finds your name again. Because on two plays when you could've contributed, you instead wet the bed with a drop and falling short of the line to gain.
