Eagles fans have quickly climbed my list of despised sports fans...right up there with Cowboy, Raider & Yankee fans.

One obnoxious drunk philly fan wearing a childrens inflatable pool toy started dancing in front of me...I told him to get out of my face. He then went on to call me "a**hole" and was eyeballing me the rest of the game (he was a punk phake philly tough guy).

Then outside Gordon Biersch after the game one accused me of being a bandwagoner, I proceeded to put him in his place (he was about as smart as Rocky Balboa).

I have met classy Philly fans. They aren't that uncommon in my experience, in fact. However, I still think that there's an extremely unhealthy general attitude among Philadelphia fans that just isn't matched anywhere else.

My favorite Philly story is about Gus Zernial, outfielder for the Athletics in 1954 just before the team moved to Kansas City. Zernial was a power hitter, had hit 42 homers for the team the year before, and had driven in 100 runs for the previous three seasons. But he was banged up in the team's last year in Philly and didn't play that much or that well. Philly fans made him a punching bag for their frustration over the team not being good and their impending move.

In the final game of the year, Zernial tripped over a sprinkler in the outfield and broke his shoulder. As he writhed in pain, the fans booed. Despite the pain, Zernial said that as he lay there with the boos washing over him he only had one thought: "Thank God I don't have to come here anymore."

Yeah, that's 50+ years ago. Very little to suggest things have changed all that much in a couple of generations.

The Phily fan to my right said had to be a twinkie away from 450 lbs, so when I sat I had to lean into my wife.

Put down the cheese steak, man!

If they are from Philly, then I am not surprised.

The number one reason that I became a Cardinal fan over an Eagles fan was that their fan base turned me off completely. The game atmosphere is digusting.

They are just bitter, nasty people, with a severe attitude problem. They think it is cool to be that way for some reason, but it is annoying.

Not to mention Napoleon complex runs RAMPANT in philly.

Portland Oregon these days.
Two guys in Eagle jerseys by us.

The son was quiet until the Eagles got rolling in the third quarter, Then suddenly he's yelling, "I knew it! Just like the Giant game baby! Just like the Giants! You are going down!"

When the Cards won, I turned to see he was gone. I mean like he evaporated. But his father just stood smiling. He turned to me and said, "Damn -- hell of a game! Best game I've ever seen!"

I thought maybe the son had bought the tickets and the jerseys -- and Dad wore it to make him happy.

Eagles fans are losers..

My gang and i booed the crap out of them as they walked past our tailgate.. and they did nothing but kept walking.

Totally overrated.

Yep. We spared no one. I boo'd what must have been an 75 year old couple when they went by, no shame.

We were discussing whether we would boo a Eagles fan that was in a wheelchair. Adam said that he would put a stick in his wheel.

:D

On local sports radio yesterday some Eagle fan was whining about the "horrible, thug Cardinals fans". I will admit that it looked like some former Raider fans have got on our bandwagon, the worst thing I saw a Card fan do was flick the last couple of ounces of his beer across a group of Eagle fans.
Whiny Eagle fan needs to admit that we are a tough road game for your team these days - "Eagles West" in SDS is long gone.

absolute jerks? Rude, cocky, arrogant, etc...

have no respect for the lot of them.

That was my experience with them yesterday.

Steeler fans last year were way classy.

Go figure.

A friend on the flight to the game yesterday (philly fan and penn native) told me it's an eastern/western penn thing.

Thoughts?

Should have seen them at Sky Harbor yesterday. My flight boarded right next to theirs. They all had their Eagles jackets rolled up and were wearing Phillys gear. It was too funny.
