The Indiana Pacers have been must-see NBA viewing over the past week or so.
Part III in their recent saga came Wednesday night when they rallied in the last minute against the shorthanded Dallas Mavericks to win 135-131.
Indiana shouldn't have been in that position, considering Dallas had eight players in uniform, none being Anthony Davis or Kyrie Irving.
The Pacers trailed by 11 points with 6 minutes left but whittled away, taking the lead 131-130 on an Andrew Nembhard 3-pointer with 16 seconds left after Pascal Siakam's steal on a full-court trap.
Two nights earlier, the severely shorthanded Pacers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 132-130 in overtime as Obi Toppin hit 4 3-pointers in the extra period, including his winner with 3 seconds remaining.
On March 11, Tyrese Haliburton's 4-point play with 3 seconds left lifted the Pacers to a 115-114 win over the Milwaukee Bucks, a possible first-round playoff opponent.
These cardiac Pacers (39-29) are fourth in the Eastern Conference standings, one game up on the Bucks and Detroit Pistons.
