Michigan State basketball has landed as a 2-seed in the NCAA Tournament, the program's 27th consecutive appearance, as revealed on the selection show Sunday evening. With the Spartans as a 2-seed, they matched up with the Bryant Bulldogs as the 15-seed in the opening round of the tournament.
As customary for most schools on selection Sunday, Michigan State had a watch party with the team, watching the selection show as a collective group with their families.
When the Spartans name was revealed on Sunday, there was a loud clap from the team and families, included a loud cheer from Tom Izzo, acknowledging the accomplishment the team received from the selection committee.
