I know we have to build a coaching staff , free agency , draft, ota’s, training camp and the likes but we all have opinions on our new head coach. Many are thinking KK is the second coming any some think it’s the worse hiring in the history of the NFL. So today, right now, what would it take to consider 2019 a successful season? Three wins but a better offense? Six wins? Eight wins? More? I personally think things will star out a little slow as a new system takes shape. Give me 7 wins and competitive games and a huge step forward for Rosen. I know it’s a little silly at this point but what the hell.

6 wins +, compete level much higher , improvement on oline, and significant growth from Josh Rosen and I'll be happy.

Edit: minimal head scratching coaching decisions would be a massive victory.

Not being the worst and having an offense that competes with anyone. Record really doesn't matter it's all about competing

I'll put the bar high and say an 8 & 8 season. I think we can rationalize and be positive if its more than the 3 wins this season but an 8 & 8 season with improvement from Rosen would really excite the fans for the 2020 season.

Being alive for a playoff spot into week 14 or so is enough for me. And I don't mean "technically mathematically possible if every team loses out," but genuinely considered a possibility.

All I can say is this decision will either solidify us as laughing stocks for years to come or make SK/MB look like geniuses with a massive pair.

I personally don't think coming off a one year coach firing is the right time to roll the dice on someone without consensus of quality when snake eyes doesn't just mean a bad season but effectively puts us in Browns status in terms of org reputation. Perception is reality and the perception from everyone outside of cardinal red tinted glasses is that we are nuts and short of 6 or 7 win season we will be that meme.

Theres a very thin line between a genius & madman. Got to take that risk I guess when your div rivals are pulling way ahead & you staring down rock bottom for a decade or so. I'm not even going to try guess win numbers but hopefully I'm not turning my TV off on Sundays anymore

I want to see how they compete in the division...If they can split with LA and SEA and sweep SF, to get 4 division wins, I'd be happy...

Next priority is how they compete against other teams with new coaches and QBs....so Tampa, Cleveland, etc...

7-8 Total Wins and scoring points, I can live with that for next season.

If we go back to our 3-4 defense, with our personnel in place, and show some spark in offense, which I think we will, I see us improving by at least 5 wins. Not a bad start in my book.

Perception is perception and MAY be reality.

Improvement on defense close to the level before Wilks forced his scheme on us. Improvement on offense from rock-bottom to at least semi-decent, with the focus on developing Rosen. Maybe the offense can win a game or two, which even the Bills or Jets managed to do last season. Hopefully the defense can win a couple more and stop the run. It's all about the right direction.

Completely agree. This is a bold hire, that Will Either make you a genius Or make you lose all respect.

You see moves like this in the corporate World. Companies take a chance on an up and comer and as long as you surround him with an experienced team this Could work.

I’m skeptical But If Keim Helps Build an experienced staff around him, I’m giving it a chance.

Keim’s career is most likely done If this doesn’t Pan out

So you think it's realistic to go from 3 wins and a historically bad offense to competing for a playoff spot in one off season.

Good luck with that

If we only win 3 or 4 games but the team is competitive like in 1997, people are going to call for KK's head and the Wilks was fired because of racism mantra will begin again even though the difference between winning 3 games but being in every game and winning 3 games and getting blown out most weeks is a stark contrast.

Good luck with that
1997 we were 4-12 with a 24th ranked offense
1998 we were 9-7 and went to the playoffs with a 13th ranked offense

So, it isn't impossible.

6-7 wins, meaningful 4th quarters, DJ back to two years ago and a vastly improved Rosen

We now have an elite offensive scheme that scores a lot of points.

The questions on how that system will translate to wins:
  • X's & O's (can we adjust to NFL, create a solid game plan, and make adjustments during game). Last 2 are valid questions for any coach (Wilks was a no).
  • Personnel (do we have the talent to run the offensive system) I think we will.
  • Defense (who is the DC and how do Jones, PP, and Baker fit) Who do we add to the defense (FA and draft)

Some fans will say good hire, and some fans will say bad hire. And one group will be correct. Put me into the I've no idea group but I am excited by the hire, and know that time will tell.

P.S. I am sure of one thing. He'll last MORE THAN ONE YEAR.
