Since installing Nick Foles as the starting QB, the Eagles have been a sort of juggernaut offensively. However, defensively is where this game is going to be won. As typical with Bill Davis defenses the Eagles give up a ton of yards. They have the 31st ranked defense in the league right now and the way we've been moving the ball lately I don't see any reason why this can't continue. The only worry is that the Eagles to give up yards but not a lot of points. I think they average something like 23PPG given up. Offensively, McCoy is a beast and is pretty much the go to guy on offense. Also, the way we give up plays to the TE I'm afraid Celek might eat us alive. That said, the key is pressuring Foles. He hasn't been picked off yet so we need to reverse this. As usual, win the turnover battle and we should win.

Offensively for us, their defense is ripe for the pickings. We just need to play our game. They can be run on and passed on. Keep the turnovers at a minimum and we'll be fine. One thing that worries me are the drives that die inside the 10. FG's are nice but I cringe when we settle for 21 yard FG's. Punch it in. Let get this done and ensure a non-losing season.

I am preparing for the let-down game and this may be it.

East Coast
Early Time
Opponent in the playoff race
Opponent coming off their BYE Week

This is the game that will tell us everything we need to know about the Cardinals. This is a classic game where the wheels can fall off. If they pull out a victory, there are no more excuses to reserve judgment on this team.

It probably going to be VERY cold. Maybe windy maybe some elements. All great equalizers.

The Cardinals have me right where there want me. I am more confident for this game than I should be.

The Cardinals are simply better than the Eagles. Feel free to best a good team, Iggles.

Actually the forecast is for temps in the low to mid 50's so weather shouldn't be a factor but a lot can happen in a week. As for the bye week thing, it can work both ways. Cards are running on all cylinders while the Eagles' momentum was stanched a bit by the bye. A man can hope can't he. Besides I have a lot invested in this game. Wife is an Eagles fan so it's a civil war in my house right now. :D

I hear you. I have three Saints fans in my house. Since they beat us I have to hear it all the time from them.

I think that the book on Philly is that they're going to get yards, and they're going to score points. The tempo just puts immense pressure on opposing defenses.

So you're going to have to be able to keep pace with them; maybe not in an actual "pace" (number of plays) way, but you're offense is going to have to be effective at keeping Philly off the field.

I think that we'll have a chance to win this game.

Just remind them that the Cards beat the Saints with Max Hall at QB. That trumps all their wins. :D

My wife is an Eagles' fan also(South Jersey). Weeks ago I was confident we would win this game. Sure wish Vick was playing. Will be a tough game for sure.

I hear ya. They are definitely a different team with Foles.

Most of my family - dad, mom, brother, cousins - are Eagles fans. I am hoping not to hear too much BS on Sunday.

Vegas opened with the Cards as a three point dog. I believe it's been the first time in a few weeks where our opponent is favored. Could be a real statement game if we win.

Point spreads are for gambler's perception only. Bookies need to stimulate the action.

That means it's a pick 'em game with the Eagles getting the obligatory 3 points for being home. It will be interesting watching how the money goes in the coming week. Like this game, we started off a 1 1/2 favorite and by kickoff we were 3 point favorites. If the money starts going to Philly we could be in trouble.

Of course we CAN win this game. We are 7-4 and one of the hottest teams in football. Keep in mind is one of the 3 worst home teams in the NFL this year and the only reason they have one win is because RG3 threw a TERRIBLE pass a week ago at end of the game.

My biggets concern is the bye week. No idea what to expect out of Chip Kelly after a bye week. But otherwise think this is a game we should win based on recent play.

I see Tennessee as the bigger let down game. Next two weeks we should be suitably amped up.

First - we can beat any team in the NFL if our defense plays at the level it's proven to be capable of, and our offense doesnt turn the ball over. Any team...

Second - Crisper called it. This is exactly the type of game that typically spells bigtime trouble for the Cards. However, if our defense travels and plays at the level it has been playing at just about all season long, we will be in this game come the 4th quarter.
Palmer, via his years with Cincy, is accustomed to playing in adverse outdoor conditions - though, early weather reports seem to suggest weather won't be an issue on Sunday.
But, if the offense can continue to gel, and our defense travels, I really like our chances. Philly's defense is 2nd to last in the entire NFL in giving up yards per game! Over 400 yards per game!
Offensively, Philly has speed that could cause issues... McCoy is a handful to contain and DeSean Jackson is having a great year as well. Foles has yet to toss an INT and has only been sacked 12 times.
With a bye week to prepare, you have to think Chip Kelly will attempt to insert some new-fangled crap to keep our defense on its' heels.

Gonna be an enormous test the Cards, but particularly our defense. Maybe the toughest test of the year for them, given early game on east coast, Philly coming off the bye, Foles playing so well and the speed on that offense...

Long range forecast is 40 Degrees and partly sunny, not a bad forecast however weather has been known to change rapidly here on the East coast.

I'll be there, but not sure that's a good thing. I've been to many road games over the years & only seen them win maybe 4 of 30. The key to winning in Philly is to jump on them quickly. Their fans turn on the home team when they play poorly & that crowd can get very quiet (other than the booing). Conversely, if you let them get an early lead, the crowd noise will make it a very tough venue for the road team. The combination of me being there & the Eagles coming off their bye my be too much to overcome. If we win this game, we will be on our way to a double digit win season!!

Even though I'm not overly optimistic about this game, let's not forget that the Eagles fired Bowles. I'm sure our D wants to go out there & win one for him!! Last week it was for BA, this week for Bowles!! Maybe I'm feeling a little better right now:)

Eagles will be a good test. As several have posted it's a road game on the east coast.
They have a very explosive offense and one of the best RB's in the league. Foles has been playing incredibly well and D Jackson can get deep quickly.

They aren't very good in the red zone which means if we don't give up quick long TD's we can keep them from scoring enough to let our Offense win the game.

I didn't think of this. Should have the D fired up to play up to their full abilities.
