My keys to the game:

SIM-PLI-FY

Stanton is erratic, inaccurate and stressful to watch. If I was building this gameplan I would have a very run focused game and lots of short slant routes to our bigger receivers. Stanton can handle those. DJ and AE should get tons of carries and swing passes out of the backfield. I would focus everything here and only go deep on playaction throws once the safeties are biting. Oh yeah, dont call WR screens. Way too dangerous.

If we can rack up 150 yards on the ground and 75 yards receiving from RBs I think we can easily dismantle the 49ers.

On defense I would play just like we did vs the rams, stuff the run and dare gabbert to beat us in the air. Hopefully HB in the slot makes a big difference as far as stopping the passing game.

I personally think that DS will do what many fans are asking CP to do. He'll take what the defense is giving him and not force the ball down field. I also believe that we'll win this game and the whole world will say there is a QB controversy on AZ. I still would not be shocked to see CP on the field tomorrow night either.

Just to further that take, I think DS will be fine. I think he threw his picks last week when he was pressed to make something happen. He didn't have the time to move the ball methodically down the field. I also think he doesn't have the stones to stand in the pocket while plays develop down field. He looked like he had ants in pants when they brought the heat at the end of the game last week.

I believe SF will stack the box and dare Stanton to pass. If forced to throw downfield he really can't. Not seeing a win here without Palmer.

I disagree - Stanton can throw long all day, he isn't as good at throwing in traffic, IMO. So if they stack, Stanton can also go over the top to beat them because SF will be giving up safety help.

Run it 52 times and dont ever throw over 4 yards. Dead serious.

We go outside these limits, we lose.

if the run game is strong, play action bombs can be good. Drew can throw bombs with the best of them, his intermediate in traffic throws are the danger zone.

I dont understand this board. You all remind me of Uncle Rico. "Back in high school I threw 5 TDs in a game once. We woulda won state if coach wouldve put me in, no doubt in my mind."

Stanton did OK in 2014. 2 years ago.

In the 2 years since then hes been abominable. Hes gotten beat out by 3rd stringers in preseason each of the last 2 years, but stays on the roster because papa BA wont ever cut his special little guy. Hot stank garbage.

He can still handle deep passes, those are not his bad area. his bad area is intermediate routes in traffic.

Not sure I've ever seen him throw an intermediate side-line out on target. Bread and butter
play for most decent QB's

Say he is fine on deep balls. Do you really think the gameplan is going to be bombs and handoffs?

No, BA is going to play Stanton like he does Palmer, itll be a catastrophe.

Yes, I think the majority of the gameplan would call for runs, swing passes, slant routes and play action bombs. Thats not all we will do as the players also have to get open but the gameplan will be to play conservative, protect the ball, run smash mouth football and take your shots when you can. Just like it was last time Palmer missed games. Drew was not winning by lighting the world on fire, he was being protective about the ball and playing conservative football with occasional bombs when they think the D will be off guard.

20-25 passes tops if we control the tempo and the scoreboard. If we do not control the tempo and scoreboard, we already lost as it means pass, pass, pass, pass.

The D will have to come up big from the beginning of the game as if we fall back by 14 points and become one dimensional, we are done.

Nope... that's double the amount of times he should be passing! I want to win this game. And we can if we keep the ball on the ground. I'd be very happy with a 10-3 win, where we put up close to 200 yards on the ground and dominated in ToP! There is no need for Stanton to throw the ball 20 times... unless of course we are down big, or our run game falls apart...

I 100% agree.

Stanton is scary on intermediate routes, but the guy can spin the rock down field.

Proof ?

There is your proof above, and since we are getting ready for a football game tomorrow, there is more proof below

Hell yeah this team can beat the Niners. They just have to play within themselves, do their job, and play for each other. This team has gone from everything to lose, to zero expectations moving forward.

The media has lost faith, the excitement feeding the start of this season is gone. The bandwagon is empty, and the Cardinals only have themselves to worry about.

Time to man up, go out there, and get the job done.

PS - After watching that highlight ? THIS TEAM NEEDS a little John Brown touchdown dance, loosen up, have fun, play football.

Fair enough. Guess we will see tomorrow night.
