You all realize, I assume, that we're 8 & 5 and SF is 6 & 7 - a 2-game lead with three games left.
If we were to beat Detroit, lose to GB and be upset by StL, we'd be 9 & 7.
If SF were to run the table - upsetting Philly in the snow this week and then winning as expected vs. StL and Detroit, they'd be 9 & 7 and own the tie breaker. (Note - SF is built to run the ball and stop the run. Perfect for snowy weather).
Bottom line - If we win 2 of 3 games, SF cannot catch us. If we don't, we're probably toast. Since we'll probably be sizable underdogs against Green Bay, Detroit and StL become do-or-die games for us.
I guess one way to look at it is - "If we can't beat both Detroit and the Rams, we don't deserve to be in the playoffs."
(Note - I'm not giving up on beating Green Bay - just acknowledging that we'd have our work cut out).
