We go Bosa #1, but say we go Jeffery Simmons at #33 as well....

Yes, we need OL badly, & if Chris Lindstrom & Dalton Risner were there at #33 along with Simmons, I would really have to think about it. Would probably go Lindstrom overall because he would also be BPA(I think he’ll be a consistent All-Pro) & need. However, Simmons would also do the same.

Protection for Rosen is absolutely key though.

Ah man, I can’t wait for the draft.

Will Simmons even play this season because of his knee injury? If he does play will he be effective or tentative?

I believe he will miss most if not all of the upcoming season as the injury was very recent. If he is rated that high, I would take him in round four and beyond. Would be like getting another first round pick next year.

I'm pretty sure the team said this after drafting O'Brien Schofield and then they pushed that narrative for a couple years until he left the team.

Or you can use Jaylon Smith as the example for it working out.

I wouldn't hate it, but the first pick on day 2 is usually a hot spot for teams to trade up. trading back and adding a pick or possibly moving up from the 3rd depending on how far he drops would be good with me! Combining his off the field with this injury should cause him to slide into mid second round area I'm guessing

I agree with this.

Commenting on the original topic as well, I see ZERO issue with drafting a defensive linemen at the top of the second round. I just think Simmons is not worthy of the first pick in the second round because he is: A. Injured and B. Has baggage stemming from a video of him hitting a woman in a street fight.

I had a few mock drafts where Christian Wilkins from Clemson dropped to the 2nd round, and that is a defensive lineman I would be happy to see the Cardinals pick at the top of the first round.

One for those drafts had Chris Lindstrom dropping to the third round as well, so I got Bosa, Wilkins and Lindstrom in one draft..........that is what I call fantasy land stuff tho. LOL

A few factors influencing who we draft during the higher rounds:

Our BPA board.

The BPA boards of the other 31 teams.

i.e. This could cause a guy we rate in the Top 10 - 15 to fall to us at #33 because the other teams don't like him as much as we do.

Happens all the time and makes the Draft so hard to predict.

Add "trades" to this gumbo and things get even wilder.

I’ve got a hunch the cards will either make a bold move up into the first round or trade for additional picks. I don’t believe we will be making a pick with the 33 rd pick.

I think you can make a move like this if you are also willing to move up from your 3rd round pick to get an offensive linemen if there is a run.
