Beautiful!

Marbs can now move to the 2 on occasion. It really does take the pressure off Marbs having to play 48 minutes at the point.

I love what I've heard and seen from this kid.

Averaging 28 ppg in a tough Brazilian league really shows that this kid has the ability to put the ball in the hole.

This Suns team is going to be exciting as hell next year.

Suns get: Leandrinho Barbosa (No. 28)
Grizzlies get: Future No. 1 pick
The fallout: Brazilian Barbosa made little sense in San Antonio, which probably needed size over a point guard. As ESPN.com Insider Chad Ford notes, Barbosa has the potential to be a Gary Payton-like player someday. The Suns have a pair of international players in the draft.

Tim Shea was just on KTAR

Barbosa is 6'3 long long arms.
Exceptional scorer.
ROY in brazil
2nd youngest brazilian national team member ever
Plays only for 3 years and in his 3rd season averaging those ridiculously huge stats

His left hand isn't perfect.
His shots is a little bit funny as if he was trying to hit the back of the rim on every shot or something like that

The report on him is that he's ultra athletic and very aggressive.

He likes to push the ball and create at the rim.

His jumper sounds erratic, but something that can be corrected.
He's definitely finding other ways to score if he's pouring in 28 a night in Brazil.

does anyone know what conditions were attached to our #1 in cleveland? I assume it was for wesley person...was it a non-lottery pick or something?

I am more excited about the spurs trade than on zarko..he is 22 - comparable to a college senior in the US..Hope the suns scouted hard on this one - sure they did - hope they are right..

I don't like Zarko unless he can become a center.

I love Barby.

Rex Chapman really wanted Barby and was waving the brazillian national flag.

Everybody liked him and thought he might be potentially the best PG in the draft aside from Lebron.

He is an EXPLOSIVE athlete.

Rex Chapman says his shot is funny but he is a pure shooter and can fly up and down the court.

The thing about some of these foreigners is that they are all business. Hungry as hell.

Even Zarko mentioned that he's ready to be diving on the floor (doing whatever it takes).

Zarko can score. He creates mismatches. And, it frees up Stouds to do his thing because you can't leave Zarko.

Barbarosa fills the Suns most glaring need. Someone to take the pressure off Marbs. The game slowed down when Marbs came out. Penny filled in capabably, but the game went more half-court.

I give this draft an A+ on potential. Still in need of a gunslinging guard, but the table is set for an exciting season.

We need a backup SF. In fact, that need may be the #1 need of our team. Zarko, in theory, fills that need. I don't understand why you choose to ignore that slin.

I don't think that at 7' he can guard other SFs.

He also can't really shoot the 3 which we definately need from a SF.

Granted, he's not as good, but Nowitzki and Garnett, and Cliff Robinson all can guard other small forwards.

Well, as for the 3, I agree with you there--but what other SF prospect was there? I've been saying for months that I've wanted a long SF type that is fairly mobile and can run. We got him, so I'm not disappointed.

Diaw was on board still...

Zarko is better than Diaw, I think even slin agrees with that, right slin? (I might be wrong, but I thought Diaw was a guy you really didn't like)

The main thing that stands out about Zarko is that he can run the floor as good (or better) than most big guys his size.

Slin, your forgetting that SF's can't guard him. Sure, his defensive will need work. But, they've been saying that about Dirk Nowitzki since he was born.

I'll take a 6'11" big guy that can shoot, run the floor, and has a great work ethic over a 6'8" tweener any day.

i feel ya on that chap. we needed to get in the new with a long mismatch creating sf. just hopefully he can create his own shot and can score effeciently and rebound a little. we dont need him to be fantastic, just hit some jumpers and dont turn the ball over. with him consistently hitting jumpers, he will cause problems at his size. the floor will open like a beer in a bar if he is hitting his jumper. i can see amare and steph salivating about the POSSIBILITIES.
