Ohalete played free safety, Wilson strong safety. This Shazor kid is definitely a strong safety.

Right, but I read one of the reports, that says he can cover so I thought he could add something there.

Obviously he would backup Adrian, but if he can cover like they say he can i say see what he can do at FS

My concern with Shazor and I guess you can say the same thing for several guys we drafted too. He slipped for a reason and we're all assuming that the reason was wrong and Green is right. Certainly we all hope that's the case but sometimes guy slip and prove scouts wrong, and sometimes they slip and never do a thing in the NFL.

But Green is a proven evaluator of talent so I certainly trust his ability to identify which guys are sliding unfairly and which aren't. I think Brown and Mitchell are potentially huge steals. I worry about why Blackstock dropped but again potentially huge steal. Green, don't know a whole lot about him other than he was highly rated and had a knee problem.

We picked several guys that slipped so we're either going to look like geniuses in 2 years , or complete idiots, right now my money is on genius.

You are right Russ, and from what I am hearing he slipped for two reasons

1. is the slow 40

2. but the biggest one was a character issue that the league investigators apparantly dug up....seems he got into some serious trouble early in his career. Since then he has had no issues at Michigan but from what I understand he had a pretty serious run-in witht he law...

Good pickup, but he's got a lot of guys to beat out. Good luck. He will be practice squad eligible.

Ohalete, Harris, Mayes . . . Wilson and Griffith are the starters right now.

We got Shazor!!!
Yikes! For a moment, I thought you were referring to some kind of exotic disease.

Then I realized you were referring to the safety.

Flags: (S: SPEED) Player lacks ideal speed at position
There obviously are mixed reviews about Shazor's speed or lack of it.

But cheezy-peezie! We're talking UDFA here. Within this context, the kid's Upside/Downside ratio is off the charts.

Great get.

PS I'm seeing all these UFDA's drift in to us, but only saw solid corroboration on Robinson and Bergen a couple of hours ago. Is there any site with good credibility where I can get a complete list? I already took a gamble and posted Francisco on the BRS.

crap, crap, crap. This guy makes the team, and one of those three doesn't.

Don't know the exact salaries -- I'll leave that to joeschmoe -- but Ohalete I think is making a lot of money. Harris was a former UDFA so I don't think he's making much more than the minimum.

So far it seems we have got 2 out of the best 5 UDFA available

Adam Bergen, TE, Lehigh

Ernest Shazor, SS, Michigan

Out of the other top 5

Brandon Browner went to the Broncos

Jammal Brimmer is still available as is Kay-Jay Harris, RB, West Virginia

Wow, it's starting to look like everyone on our defense, including everyone in the secondary, are excellent defenders against the run and hard hitters. We are going to be blitzing like crazy.
