It wasn't that long ago that we, as fans, and the Media would bemoaning the cross country trip to play the Giants. And have the game start at 10 AM (Az time). In yesterday's local paper (NY) they had the spread on next Sunday's game at Giants -2.5. That was before the results of Monday night, and this morning the spread is Giants -1.

A number of books now have the Cardinals as a slight favorite after opening with the Giants being a slight favorite. A lot of early money on the Cards after the Monday night games I guess.

The Giants look terrible: this is an opportunity. The Cardinals fans and media should be smelling blood.

If the pass rush can't get to the quarterback against this offensive line, they're not going to be able to pressure anyone this season.

Don't know JPP's status (he went out early Monday night), but if he's out, the Giants don't really have anyone capable of pressuring the opposing QB.

Cards need to come out and take care of business early. Putting your foot on the neck of a struggling franchise on their own turf would actually be a statement win.

My Yahoo Sports app currently shows the Cards as 2.5 point FAVORITES. Wow. The Giants are putrid - we need to stomp their A$$E$ as a tune-up for the Niners.

Yep, fast start for us, we should crush them. If they start fast, we'll have a dog fight on our hands. every team fights extra hard in the home opener.

The Chargers Qb & Gates are a lot more fearsome than the Giants. The no huddle offense is also more scary. If our QB plays like he did Monday we will win. Also Fitz should likely be more involved. Imagine winning first two in a rpw. When did that happen last?

Waaayyyy back... two years ago! We actually started 4-0 that year, and then someone put a turd in the punch bowl and we finished 5-11.

BTW, that game 2, we beat New England in Foxboro.

Agree - this will be a great test.

1. We manhandle and prove we can play anywhere any time
OR
2. We lose or eek out a win against a pitiful foe (playing down to their level)

Hopeful for 1 but not comfortable at all going in.

PFT Quote sums it up:

Cardinals at Giants

MDS’s take: Both teams are coming off short work weeks after opening the season on Monday night, but the Cardinals are flying cross country and will be worn down by last week’s nail-biter, and so I’m going with the Giants in a close one.

MDS’s pick: Giants 21, Cardinals 20.

Florio’s take: Once upon a time, the Cardinals couldn’t win on the East Coast. That was before the Cardinals became good. And before the Giants became really, really bad.

Florio’s pick: Cardinals 24, Giants 13.

No team is easy to beat on the road... I think we win, in a close one :)

Exactly. We are not going to stomp anyone on road. The Giants were embarrassed on prime time television. No matter how bad they seem to be, we will get their best on Sunday afternoon. I have a bad feeling about this game. Just hope I'm wrong.

We've had precious few good games in that dump of a stadium and lots of bad ones. I'm cautiously optimistic this week. But, you are right, the Giants are going to fight very hard to turn their season around.
