Who was the best of the best in the Courier Times/Intelligencer area?

Take a look here as we unveil our first- and second-team and honorable mention wrestling all-stars for the 2024-25 season.

First team

100 pounds: Ashley Stank, Quakertown, junior


After not qualifying for the PIAA championships as a sophomore, she made her first appearance in Hershey this season a great one as she captured a PIAA title. She finished the season 36-6.

106 pounds: Julia Horger, Conwell-Egan, junior


Not only did she win a second PIAA gold medal, Horger went undefeated for the second straight season. Over the past two years, Horger is 55-0. This season, the two-time Courier Times/Intelligencer first-team selection was 33-0.

112 pounds: Grace Nesbitt, Neshaminy, sophomore


A two-time Courier Times/Intelligencer first-team selection, she has qualified for the PIAA championships in both of her seasons and also earned medals both years. A runner-up a year ago, Nesbitt placed sixth this season and finished with a 31-11 record.

118 pounds: Savannah Witt, Palisades, senior


For the second straight year, Witt destroyed the competition in Hershey and claimed her second PIAA gold medal. This year, in going 40-1, the two-time Courier Times/Intelligencer first-team selection had three pins to get to the state finals and then had a major decision win in the state final.

124 pounds: Emily Sarr, Souderton, junior


After placing fourth at the Southeast Regionals, and earning the final spot at the PIAA championships, Sarr battled to secure an eighth-place medal in Hershey. She finished the season with a 32-10 record.

130 pounds: Kayla Husti-Luca, Souderton, senior


After placing eighth in Hershey a year go, she returned to the PIAA championships and picked up a bronze medal. The two-time Courier Times/Intelligencer first-team selection finished the season with a 35-5 record.

136 pounds: Michelle Yakupova, Abington, sophomore


After having a losing record as a freshman and not making it out of districts, she put together a superb season with 23 wins, a fourth-place finish at regionals and a berth in the PIAA championships.

142 pounds: Elizabeth Watts, Pennridge, senior


Like Yakupova, Watts did not make it out districts a year ago, but that changed this season as she finished fourth at regionals and qualified for the PIAA championships. She finished the season with a 17-7 record.

148 pounds: Meghan Gottschall, William Tennent, junior


After her season ended at regionals a year ago, she battled through injuries this season and was able to qualify for the PIAA championships. She finished with a 21-10 record.

155 pounds: ChaseMarie Ryan, Quakertown, senior


After not making it out of regionals a year ago, she placed second this year at them to earn her spot in the PIAA championships for the first time. The two-time Courier Times/Intelligencer first-team selection finished the season with a 27-12 record.

170 pounds: Bryce Snyder, Palisades, junior


A year after placing fourth at the PIAA championships, she made it back to Hershey and reached the title match and earned a silver medal. She also won a Southeast Regional title. She finished the season with a 32-5 record.

190 pounds: Caroline Hattala, Quakertown, junior


After earning a sixth-place medal at the PIAA championships as a sophomore, she returned again this season and captured the gold medal with a perfect 34-0 season. Over the past two years, the two-time Courier Times/Intelligencer first-team selection owns a 61-3 record.

235 pounds: MacKenna Atkinson, Souderton, sophomore


She has qualified for the PIAA championships in each of her first two seasons and has also brought home medals each time. A year ago, she was a runner-up while this season she placed fifth in Hershey. The two-time Courier Times/Intelligencer first-team selection finished with a 31-5 record.

148 - (tie) Annetta Barry, Neshaminy, junior, and Ivanka Chernyakhovsky, Council Rock, junior
