We need Jake Peavy Or more starting pitching

Him and Corbin would be a great one two punch what do you guys think? Who could we give up to get him?

Miley seems like he is coming around though but i believe we are going to need more.

I wouldn't call 2013 Jake Peavy great. Dbacks need bats too.

Peavy, Cahill, McCarthy. Minor leagues beware, these guys could be coming for you as they bounce around between rehab assignments.

Peavy is pretty mediocre as is, adding another mediocre (and oft injured) dude to a staff covered in them makes little sense to me.

Don't know the numbers as far his contract, but being that the Cubs are basically giving players away, I'd inquire about Nate Scheirholtz. He obviously likes hitting at Chase Field and murders right handed pitchers. With Ross killing lefty's and Nate killing righties we'd be set pretty well.

This of course also requires dumping Kubel, which I'd be fine with.

As I said in another thread, I'm still dying for them to inquire about the Twins closer. He's on a great contract for the next four years. Maybe poke into Cishek over in Miami as well.

Getting Peavy would be dumb. I'm hoping Cahill gets traded.

We need at least one more big bat in the lineup. We need a lock down closer. We need a quality starter. And we need a scary bat on the bench. Peavy doesn't fill any of those roles unless he's been spending a lot of time in the batting cage that we don't know about.
