There’s a Kyler before the 2021 Green Bay game and one after. You can’t assume the After Kyler has any relation to the Before Kyler.

It’s time to stop hoping Before Kyler returns.
Are you going to skip watching next season then?

You might as well bet against the Cardinals making the playoffs next year.

I will be here on occassion, but if next year is a failure I will admit I was wrong.

What do you consider a failure, a disappointment and a success for the 2025 season?

Cards have to make the playoffs next year. It’ll be a catastrophe if they can’t win 10+ games agains the NFC South and AFC South.

Winning in the playoffs is hard; I’m not assuming anything.

Absolutely this should be the expectation.

Statistically, our offense has had a better season than our defense. I cannot grasp the failure to see the most talent deficient part of our team is the defensive front 7. It is obviously our biggest need.

We don't have to be a winner because we have a QB who passes for 400 yards a game. Nothing wrong with winning with sacks and turnovers. In fact, I love that style of football. I think this defense can be nasty with a big time edge and DT and LB. Those are our three biggest needs. IMHO.

I agree and if they don't that should be the end of Kyler without a discussion.

Beyond that, I would still be disappointed if they make playoffs and then lose like vs the Rams last time. They wouldn't get blown out but I could see a first round bye and a swift exit.

In that case I would also want Kyler to be gone.

So this is ironic because I am demanding either a wild card spot and a playoff win, or a first round bye and a win in the 2nd round. If either of these things don't happen I think Kyler should be gone and I think Petzing should join him.

Our passing offense is the weakest part of our team now. If we had someone with talent to replace Dorch and have a real threat in the slot, what excuse can Kyler have?

Assuming our oline can stay relatively healthy but we could also add depth there. I made the arguement a few weeks ago that if you put Kyler on the Vikings he would probably perform better with that offense and those WRs. That can't be the case next year.

Also, we need to beat Seattle in 2025. Enough of that crap.

So everyone thinks I am this big pro-Kyler person but I have higher expectations than you now?

Thats funny.

On other note, someone on the radio said this year is considered "a horrible QB class." But who really knows?

I don't see any harm in drafting a QB in the deep rounds trying to strike gold. Clayton Tune is not it and Kyler could use the extra motivation that he isn't providing right now.

Final point. If I was the GM I would give up a pick for Jake Browning. Look at his stats as a starter. He is a starting QB playing backup. If SEA doesn't make a play for him they are blind.

Bring him in to compete with Kyler literally next year. And if Kyler really does fail, we can can keep everything else in place besides him and Petzing.

Then all we need is a new offensive coordinator.

Jake Browning IS an interesting name. As a challenger or stop gap, I like it. Good thought.

Kyler did pretty well with Christian Kirk in 2020-2021. Also it isn't just about speed. Kirk ran a 4.47. Certain players just know how to get open deep and stretch the defense.

It just seems like Harrison is more of a possession WR who is going to be a dominant route runner. Maybe he will start catching the ball when Kyler throws it up, maybe he doesn't. But it doesn't seem like it is his strength at all.

I’m not certain if he’s even a FA, but a guy like Jeudy would be a nice addition to our WR room. So, Michael Wilson sits, and Murray throws 4 touchdowns & no picks. And the offense puts up 47 points. Coincidence? Maybe. No matter how we got to 8 wins, it’s ALWAYS great to double your wins from the previous season. We’ve drafted 23 players the last two years, so it’s time see them make strides & also time to augment that youth with some smart FA signings. Cardinals are on a nice path to sustainable success, but 2025 will be key to future success.

Too bad Alec Pierce isn't a FA.

Sadly....I don't think we're adding much to this offense. They've invested in Benson. They like Wilson. Dortch oddly only makes an impact the last game of the season. So now he'll be back for cheap.

Organization probably thinks MHJ just has to get better/improved chemistry with Kyler and everything will be ok.

Sad times ahead if true.

And yet, no one ever mentions Zay Jones. He had a decent game because we finally started including him in the game plan. I’d like to see how he does next year without missing 5 weeks of practice and games. MHJ WILL make a huge jump in year 2 also. Regardless, I would like to see some speed added to the WR room. It’s a huge red flag to me that Wilson was out and the offense looked great????

Is Kyler Murray mediocre?

Is Marvin Harrison lagging in his progress of becoming a bona fide star WR?

Why can't Greg Dorch get open consistently?

What happened to using Benson in the screen game?

Can Mcbride ever score a TD?

Back to the original post "The Cardinals need more talent on offense"

I'm fine with the following:

TE1,2,3: seems to be set with McBride, Higgins and Rieman.

RB1,2,3: room seems solid as well. Conner, Benson, DeMercado

QB1: I'm OK with rolling with Kyler at QB for one more year.

WR1: I'm fine with MHJr and think he will take a big leap in year 2

WR3: I'm fine with Michael Wilson. My biggest concern with him was would he make it through a season and he proved that he could.

LT1: Paris solid in his first Season at LT

LG1: Brown was decent at LG. I'm fine with him at LG for another season.

C1: Froholdt was solid at C

RG2: Adams played decent in relief of big Will. He looks very good in the running game but needs improvement in pass protection. I'm fine rolling with Adams as a backup LG.

Wouldn't mind an upgrade:

WR2: Need to bring in a speed guy who can stretch the field. Someone with more size than Dortch

RG1: The Injury to big Will was a blow to the OL this season. Hope the Cardinals can bring him back.

LT2: I think it is time to find a replacement for old man Beachum

QB2: Would like to see another QB brought in to compete with Tune for the backup spot

WR4: I'm not sold on Zay Jones. Would like to see another guy drafted to compete for this spot.

RT1: I'm OK with Jonah Williams as a RT for one more season but I'm not 100% sold on him long term. I wouldn't mind drafting another RT to compete for the spot in 2026.

RT2: I think Jones played solid vs Bosa last week but wouldn't mind more competition at the position. See RT1 above.

C2: Is Gaines the guy? Maybe? Maybe not? Haven't seen enough of him.

LG2: I'm looking to find someone better than Colon.

Would you trade a fourth round pick for Gabe Davis? He's due a $10MM option bonus in March. You'd get him for basically two years, $24 million, $10 million guaranteed.

Maybe you can get him for a fifth?

A good draft, FA is key with Murray returning. This team has some great pieces, but needs to shore up the trenches and the pass rush. I think they need a DT, pass rusher, more Oline, another WR, and take a qb in mid to late rounds as a flier. Murray needs to work on his body language, mental game. I was impressed by him saying they need to keep working as a group to get better. I thought that showed good leadership. Now it's time to put the work in and keep studying to improve their game. Weird season; because they doubled their win total, but it didn't seem even near good enough. Being 6-4 at one point did that.

My wife is a UCF alum so we are big Gabe Davis fans. I didn't really think he was available but your trade is interesting assuming the new Jag HC decides to move on from him. However his knee injury would mean he misses out on most of the offseason workouts. I would consider trading a 5th for Davis depending on how the injury recovery is going and when they think he may be able to hit the field again.

Davis has good size, strong hands and decent speed. Plus he is a strong blocker in the run game. I think he would be a decent #2 if he can fully recover. It would be risky though because of the injury but I would definitely consider it. Especially with WR being pretty weak in FA and the draft this year.

It is already going on with the offseason positive spin PR. But, I was happy to hear MHJ say he and Kyler were going to sit down with their tablets today, go through their calenders, and work together as much as possible.
