Please.

That is ridiculous.

Boston didn't do anything today either besides look ridiculous out there at 250lbs.

If Boston is here the game may have been worse.

But as for Gilmore  Awful!

NOT THE PROBLEM?

No Sacks

No INT's

No Big Plays.

We DO NOT have a good enough team where our defense can get away with doing the minimum. We have to cause turnovers, and have to put pressure on the QB.

Yes, they held the Lions to low yardage but they have to come up with more big plays. Harrington could he read a book whilie in the pocket today.

But, yes Special teams and game management was disgusting. Coach Mac has a lot of looking in the mirror to do. Because it was embarrassing to watch us waste Time Outs, and get delay of game penalties.

Wilkinson would have been a good start, but we didn't seem interested in brining him in. He demolished our O-line today (Mostly that weeble-wobble Dishman, who I've NEVER liked).

defense was a huge problem. No sacks or TO's are huge. If you dont get pressure on the QB you will lose plain and simple. Red zone defense was some of the worst i have ever seen. Defense was a huge problem.

Yep, his 2 catches for 20 yds would have made the difference today.

DB never had a day like Boldin had in his FIRST game and yet you can't get over Boston.

I wonder if the Saints, Dolphins, Pats and Rams fans are giving up on the season. They played horribly today and the Fish were at home. One game does not make a season. Of course our history can't be ignored and I fully understand the lack of enthusiasm with todays game. This team is not going to lose every game this year nor did anyone expect them to win them all.

I did wait all day to hope on the site because I was so friggin mad and upset with this team.

Step one is to fix the TO's and get some ourselves.

Step two with this team is to get the ST's unit fixed.

Step 3 is to correct the mental mistakes like false starts.

The thing that hurts most about todays game is the fact that we seemed to match up equally with DET. Neither team is a contender. We should have won this game you would think but once again turnovers hurt and special teams were anything but...

Expectations were high...maybe too high...after the 4-0 preseason. The question is, how easily can the problems be fixed and will this team bounce right back next week against SEA?

I don't think the Saints have that much better of an Offense then us this year. The Saints revamped their entire secondary this year so the jury is still out on their D as well.

The Cards will improve in some area's and regress in some others. The good news is that where we will improve should far outweigh where we may slip.

ESPN etc like to throw up stats to show the importance, or lack there off, in some stats. If a did goes ..... in the preseason then they have a ..... chance to go to the playoffs. If a team wins their first game or loses their first 2 games or wears a certain type of uniform etc then etc. I think most of those stats are becoming obsolete because of how the league keeps changind and FA.

Teams that looked like crap this week will look like SB contenders next week and visa versa. It's a 16 game scheduld and this is game 1.

Having said all of that the Seahawks do look good and this of course will be a tough game this week. Hopefully the Cards will get back to minimal penalties and the ST's will not SUCK. That are the first 2 steps that need to be accomplished.

Then we can work on our blitz packages and getting the Safeties and LB's more involved in the pass rush. We blitzed today but as of now are not very effective at it.

Brooks, Deuce, conwell, horn, and stallworth. Yeah not much better. All those guys are better than who we have at that position. The only close one is at the TE position.

Penalties, turnovers and special teams failure will do you in every time in the NFL. The first two can be corrected, not sure what we do about the horrible special teams we have. Even Player sucked. One game does not make the season.

I understand about one game not making the season, but think of all the Dolphin, Patriots, and Raiders fans. They all have a concern when they lose the opening day game. At least as fans our expectations are not as high.

Looking back at it now, the game was much more enjoyable to watch than games in the past. But that still doesn't change the fact that we need to work out a few kinks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the real Matt Hasselback will show up this weekend and not the one that has been showing up last weekend of during the last few games last season.

Cheer up guys. You've got an upgrade at QB (yeah, Blake is definitely an upgrade) and once Emmitt gets out of the way, Shipp is gonna grow into a nice RB. You've got promising new WRs too. Give it a couple of years and you'd be surprised what might happen. Don't lose hope.
