Why would you give Shelton & a #2...... especially when we were supposedly getting a #2 from Tampa for Shelton..... so it would make the trade 2 #2's for James...... don't like it.... if we are trading LJ to them.... a 4th or 5th with LJ would be reasonable

I have a feeling that given the choices, James might make it a lot easier on the Bucs to make the trade than he would on the Cardinals, simply due to geography.

YES! The Bucs are rumored to want Cadillac, so this would help him fall to us. I'd prefer Cadillac to Benson, personally.

Of course, I think Ronnie is going to Miami.

And double of course, I don't think we have a shot in hell at Edge James...

News flash: James is worth two #2s. And, he's worth a 2 and Shelton.

What he may not be worth is his salary demands in light of a team's salary cap situation.

So they could trade him for another #2? Or, who is their RT? Maybe Shelton is better than him--that's a very real possibility.

Didn't think of that (trading him around), but I thought their Oline was very solid.

I do agree with this. Very much so.

While it is odd of me to say it, I think I'd rather take my shot with one of the rookies.

We still have to sign Boldin, as well...

I Don't think the Colts received alot for Faulk.....what did the Rams give up... not 2 #2's.....

James has recovered but he does have knee problems....

Plus keep in mind that James hates showing up for camp.... he had always been a problem getting him in to camp to work with the team...

The guy is a talent but could be a problem too

It is--and so is Shelton.

Yeah, but with a solid O Line, do you really want to go messing around with its chemistry...that is one of the most important things on an Oline. Shelton is good, but he isn't a superstar you can afford to mess with chemistry for, IMO.

Dunno...but damn, that deal sounds sweet and I would love it. And I wasn't for the Henry deal...

Well, since I'm obviously torn over whether this is good for the team or not, I'm not going to think about it unless it happens.

(And if it happens, and we resign Q, then I will probably hospitalize myself as a precaution to the heart attack that will surely occur.)

I believe their RT is Ryan Deim who was extended a few weeks ago. LJ may well be as naturally, if not more talented - but they hardly need him in that slot.

A #2 and a #5...I think.

Why didn't we jump on Faulk at that time?

Rick DemUlling their starting RT(I think - he may be a guard) is a FA - that trade would make PERFECT sense - thus I don't see it happeneing.

And someone worrying about Q's extension versus Edge - now THAT'S funny.

Get EDGE for a second rounder. Trade our first rounder for TWO second rounders. We get more bodies and avoid paying first rounder M$NEY!

You are right. No point in going further when you can't understand a simple query based on your expressed view.

At no point did I say or suggest that James is not a "proven commodity", nor suggest that a draft pick could possibly be a "more proven (commodity)", as you say.

I asked, based on your assertion: What the difference in cost would be between James and a RB taken at #8. I thought you might know given your strong views. Evidently... you don't.

A little English lesson. When you take a quote and put it in "" as you did you saying that only the person who wrote it thinks that. Meaning only I, or relatively few people, thinkJames is a proven player.

I couldnt find much on Hall's contact but Im sure it isnt peanuts.

Someone on the Bills Board said this:
Espn's Chris Mort. just said on the radio (looking for link) that he believe the Cards are close to getting Edge for Shelton and a # 2.

i will absolutely lose it (in a good way) if we end up doing this. the asfn equivalent ('cuz i don't think shelton is worth a 2nd) two 2nd rounders for edge? absolutely! do this. now. do it. do it.

Might not the Colts be more interested in Thompson?

And as far as salaries go, Edge is Scheduled to make 8 mil this year and nothing else.
So why couldn't we give him an 8 mil bonus and a 4 year contract with a small base this year? Say 2 mil. In essence his cap hit would be 4 mil this year. That doesn't sound to unreasonable.
It would get us through this year and the cap is going to rise over the next couple of years.
Am I off my rocker?

demulling is a fa. maybe they shift one of their oline inside and plug in shelton at tackle.
