I'm sorry, but it seemed like I was constantly screaming at the television today, and much of the time was because our coaching was putrid. When the Rams have the ball and need less than five yards for the first...we continually played 10-12 yards off the ball. What do you do with a rookie QB facing a 3rd and long pinned within the 5 yd line? Why, not blitz and play soft coverage, of course! What do you do when the defense is throwing the kitchen sink at you after a few series? Why, only try ONE EFFING SCREEN pass and no one-step drop passes. What do you do when your right tackle's getting abused? Nah, don't give him help, he'll work it out eventually. What do you do when you're being blitzed like crazy AND you don't throw screens or quick-outs to stem the tide? No WAY should you run a few draws.

My jaw literally hit the floor so many times from our own coaching stupidity. Whiz is for damn certain a better play caller than that. Davis sure in the hell needs to be more aggressive against a rookie QB, and especially with 2 good corners going against dogmeat at receiver. This was a shameful display of coaching, or shameful display of a lack of it. The coaches were very much not well prepared. Yeah, I'll give DA a healthy dose of blame, but a lot of the time he had absolutely zero chance of doing anything positive, and for that I blame the coaches a lot.

Because our QB doesn't have the touch to make those throws and proved that a few times in this very game.

The problems with coaching started a long time ago. I don't know what's up but it sure seems like they've lost their marbles when it comes to personnel and other decisions.

You have to wonder what in the heck is going on when a team has won back to back division championships and gets rid of two first round picks and three 2nd round picks, and gets 11 guys in new positions, in the same off season.

Did they think we were 3-13 the last two years?

I think the talk of Breaston being expendable would be a little premature as well. Imo, they better find a way to keep him on the roster next year

Uh folks, sure, I questioned a lot of coaching decisions today, but they did not get us "killed". In fact, I'm pretty sure we have a decent chance of being able to put it in the books as a win. Change one little thing, and who knows?

The Cards need to find a way to keep him happy. We aren't losing guys because they are too old or suck or want too much money we are losing guys because they don't want to play for the Cardinals anymore.

I don't want to be on the Whiz hater side, but I wonder if it has something to do with the coaches. I mean, the organization seems to have stepped up to correct alot of bad management from the past, so I dunno what the root of the problem is

I think this whole team had a case of first game jitters including the coaching staff. Just like we did last year at Frisco. We recovered from that and we'll recover from this. Have patience Stout. When this team jells, we can stop pulling our hair out.:D At least we won this time.;)

What was up with coach declining penalties today? I would say it happened at least 3 times. Seems like you want to put a young QB in 1-15.

The two time defending NFC West Champions. 2008 NFC Champions. Winners of 23 games the last two seasons including 4 of 6 playoff games and only having lost in the post season to the eventual SB Champions, having first game jitters?

I hope not.

It happened last year in San Francisco.

The team is already putting itself in a tough corner, not signing him before now. Sure we can franchise him, but as we've seen in the past the longer we wait the more he cost. I dont think they will sign him long term to anything substantial & that might be another mistake by the FO.

Whiz doesn't really expose his playbook much against bad teams. It's just looks much worse since this offense isn't as talented as years past IMO.

let's see 8.9. and 10 win seasons. Playoff wins and a trip to the super bowl in three years time. You may never like the calls but as long as we win he can call anything he sees fit.......

There's no carry forwards in the NFL.

Wrong, we get to carry forward today's win. We are 1-0.

Look, if someone said "almost killed" I could discuss it. If we had lost, I might tend to agree about this one game. We won, we didn't get killed.

And our two NFC West titles add to that how? Do we get to be 1.475 and 0? Does our SB appearance work in a tie breaker this year?

If we are talking about coaching and team organization, including which players are on the roster, how can you not consider the improvement from 5 to 8 to 9 to 10 wins, and a 4-2 playoff record?

If this is bad, I hope it just keeps getting worse!

It's time to stop complaining about this. It's a feature of the defense, and nothing's going to change about it. Last year it was because our corners would get beat deep. This year it's because our linebackers can't cover ANYBODY and so we're keeping a Two-deep or three-deep shell to contain everything and funnel play to the middle of the field.

Debbie Downer strikes again!

And what does that add to the discussion? We were talking about first game jitters. How do you feel about a veteran team with 4-5 former pro bowl players having first game jitters. I think that's nuts. How is that being a downer?

Instead, imo, what we saw today was a result of the huge turnover in positions and having a weak QB. We had, I think, 11 guys in new positions. Instead of first game jitter I think it is just a function of guys getting accustomed to different roles.

If you can't add anything other than some sophomoric nonsense to the discussion just stay out of it.
