We will need a back in the draft.

This draft is loaded at the RB position and I hope Green agrees that the best player option is a HB. Without Emmitt as old as he is, this team's offense goes down a lot of notches. I hope Emmitt can get through his injuries with our slim playoff hopes still alive.

GO 22!!!

I'm on the the band wagon for this guy, OMG a real RB weapon .... I thought only other teams had those.

We haven't had a stud at that position since OJ Anderson.... Does everyone realize how long ago that was?

I remember Anderson!!!! That guy was a stud the first minute of his first NFL game. Man he was fun to watch, but then we had a much better offensive line back then.

I got into an argument with a friend of mine about OJ last week about how he should be in the HOF.My friend is a Browns fan and i argued that OJ was a better RB than Leroy Kelly, who is unbelievably in the HOF, and the stats back me up.LK only played about 7 years and OJ beat him decisively in every meaningful statistical category except TD receptions.Kelly was a little before my time,so if anyone who saw both of them play could they let me know their opinion on who was the better RB.But you look at the guys getting into the Hall these days it's unbelievable that OJ doesn't even make the final cut. I mean guys like JOe Dellamilure(sp.) and Jack Youngblood were nice players but Hall of Famers? Youngblood's main claim to fame is playing with a broken leg in the playoffs.I go on an OJ in the hall rant every so often. So I should be good for a few more months now. :hulk:

When Dan Hampton made the HOF, it showed that something is really wrong with the selection process.

I like Scooby a lot. He reminds me of Larry Centers. Good hands, quick feet and powerfull enough to break tackles. The other kid I like is the guy with the long name . Given a chance he can be a pretty good FB. I would like to see us use the number 1 pick on a corner back or a D-lineman. I wouldn't mind if the situation is right if Emmitt came back for another year or two.

It's all who you played for, Hampton got in because he was part of the great Bears team, if he had been a Cardinal he'd be just another ex NFL guy who became a pro wrestler.

OJ had something happen to him in St. Louis that caused a lot of problems that weren't made public IMO.

First of all Franco Harris talked him into running out of bounds to save himself.

Then he got traded to the Giants and just sat on the bench until he popped up as a Super Bowl MVP.

I met him once in St. Louis and talked for about 5 to 10 minutes and he was as nice as he could be until I mentioned I was very sorry he got traded to the Giants and then he just clamed up and basically walked away. It was very weird.

That's why I think something was very very bad about that trade for him at least but who knows.

I think he was much better than anyone gave him credit for but the HOF would be a stretch. He still would have a case though with one Super Bowl MVP and the other stats he had I think he could have gone for a better team.

If the Cards win out, they can forget about Rolle. I'd say the odds of a RB if Rolle were not there would be high. The question is, which one does Green like?

We were talking in the stands yesterday to a Bills fan and he said Travis Henrey IS NOT in Buffalo next season. He'd be a nice p/u along with M. Bennett. The two along with Emmit for another year would be awsome!

Oh for the days of Charlie Trippi and Elmer Angsman. Pat Harder was pretty good too, but fullbacks are out of style now. Ollie Matson did very good for awhile.

Does anybody have a copy of OJ's first game against Dallas? What were his stats that day? I know we lost the game but OJ was awesome.

I watched that game on TV. My memory clearly has faded but as I recall the very first play O.J. ran was an off tackle play that he broke through the line and went about 60 yds for a TD. What a way to start a game. O.J. was some kind of palyer and perhaps one of the greatest backs of his years playing. He left the Cardinals much to early and went on to have some big years. I do not remember the reason or circumstances as to why he left.

I don't think he scored but he had a long run and then spiked the ball and got a celebration penalty(?). Had liek 160 that day as I recall.

Russ you may be exactly right. I just remember seeing him break through the line on that play and for a big man he just ran away from everyone. I did not like Dallas at all as they were sort of like the Yankees who did nothing but win. We knew we had something special after that game. Do you remember why he left the Cards and went to the Giants (I think) to go on and have some very great years.
