and we will play good football. (Dick Vermeil paraphrased)

Some may disagree, but the drop-off from Drew Stanton to Ryan Lindley is less than the drop-off from Carson Palmer to Drew Stanton
IMO.

That said, B.A. is going to have to pull another miracle out of his Kangol to lead this team past Seattle. That's okay, I believe in miracles. ;)

I have more faith in Arians squeezing something out of Lindley than the last time Lindley got a start.

I still maintain when Lindley started as a rookie he was the most scatter armed QB I ever saw.

To me, the difference is Ryan Lindley isn't good enough to play QB in the NFL...and at least Drew Stanton is a capable back up.

Ryan Lindley may be the worst QB I've ever seen try to play in this league.

not saying Lindley is the answer

but the environment he was in back in 2012 vs the one today is like night and day

His coaching staff and offensive line is much better now. He is marginal at best but there are quarterbacks like Geno Smith starting in the NFL. I just hope he doesn't throw 4 picks against Seattle. That is the biggest fear I have.

Bob, I still have memories of Mike Lloyd, Rusty Lisch, and Rick McIvor. smh

I am still holding out hope Stanton will be ok. If not we need to find someone other than Lindley. He is a joke.

Lindley is one of the worst things in the history of the NFL. You're smoking, shooting, sniffing and huffing drugs if you think we can win games with him behind center the whole time.

Cardinals need to be on the phone today to bring a QB in ASAP. They will not go anywhere in the playoffs with any QB currently on the roster.

The last time a Cards QB threw 4 picks against Seattle, they won! Just something to think about. ;)

In defense on Lindley, he made 2 clutch passes in that game last night. 1 being his first pass coming into the game that put us in fg range, right off the bench and basically no reps on sideline. 2 being the slant to brown to keep the drive alive on a 3rd down which lead to yet another fg. Final score being 12-6, Lindley contributed to the deciding points. Not saying he did anything spectacular, but didn't do anything to lose us the game. Tough spot to be put into assuming he was thinking he was behind LT. Hate on him all you want, but many were doing the same to stanton and last time I checked, we are 11-3. 11 days for our new qb to figure out the offense system better is a bonus (assuming drew is not available).

To me the dream scenario is it's a sprain not a tear. SF beats Seattle, then we limp to the post season with Lindley at QB and get a bye and then get Stanton back in time and hopefully have home field.

Like I said dream scenario not at all likely based on Stanton's reaction last night.

Was just going to post this. He came right in and threw a strike that put us back in FG range. I know Lindley isn't the 2nd coming of Joe Montana but watching him last night he does seem to have a better arm than Stanton. He did come in last night cold as ice but the one thing he does have over Stanton is that at least he can look off one receiver and look for another but that other is usually Fitz no matter who's covering him. I'm beginning to understand and trust BA's system.

to wit:

the starting tackles were D Anthony Batiste (this was the last time he was on an active NFL roster) and rookie Bobby Massie. UDFA Scott Wedidge was the center (this was the last time he was on an active NFL roster)

The RBs were a banged up Beanie Wells (this was the last time he was on an active NFL roster), the Hyphen and William Powell (this was the last time he was on an active NFL roster)

Reading this and looking at the names it makes you shudder to think that was the best the Cardinals could put out there compared to now. :barf:

I think it's interesting how quickly people forget.

there was a 2nd half drive where in 3 passes Stanton threw a picksix to Jenkins that he luckily dropped(he was diving forward). He threw a ball that was batted down, on replay you can see that where he was throwing it, the defender was sitting on the route and might have picked it if not for the bat down.

And then the last pass he panicked and threw the ball to Fitz, the ball was underthrown right at 1 of the 2 DB's there but he luckily had his back to it and didn't intercept.

So effectively 3 could have easily been picked passes in one drive, almost consecutive IIRC.

Yeah, people have suddenly forgot how much they were bitching about Stanton before this game.

IDK. I have a good feeling, much like I did about the game yesterday, that if Lindley has to play against Seattle he's going to do better than everyone expects. That's the story of this entire team this year, why is he going to be any different?

And, Russ, back me up here, I'm not a rose-colored glasses type with this team.

with lindley we dont go anywhere

Keep saying stuff like this. It was said over and over when Palmer went on IR. Arians is going to continue to use this negativity to motivate the team.

I was thinking the same thing myself. As long as Lindley has made SOME progress in his 3 years (a big IF), I think we're looking at basically the same guy. Kind of inaccurate. Good arm. Capable of making a big throw every now and then. Both had a bad pick dropped on Thursday.

It'll be interesting to see how they change the offense for Lindley. We may be sweating. But you know Arians and Tom Moore just absolutely love this ****. This is the kind of thing they live for at this point in their careers.

Don't care who is in there anymore. The team will rally around who ever it is.

I know people will say it is crazy but we may actually see Thomas out there next week. I would not put it past Arians to work up a game plan for him and throw Seattle a curve ball.

If Lindley can beat Seattle at home, or if the rest of the team can beat Seattle at home and Lindley not cost us the game, I will forgive him a whole lot of past mistakes.

I don't see it, but that's my hope. One game where everything comes together, he can cherish that memory and all, and we can look to a 1st round bye and a division to give Stanton time to come back.

I fear that is too much to ask. :(
