Severe Weather Alert from the National Weather Service

...GREATER PHOENIX AREA-NORTHWEST AND NORTH CENTRAL PINAL COUNTY- NORTHWEST MARICOPA COUNTY-SOUTHERN GILA/TONTO NF FOOTHILLS- SOUTHWEST DESERTS-SOUTHWEST MARICOPA COUNTY-WEST CENTRAL DESERTS- INCLUDING THE CITIES OF... APACHE JUNCTION... AVONDALE... BUCKEYE... CASA GRANDE... CASHION... CHANDLER... CIRCLE CITY... COOLIDGE... EL MIRAGE... FLORENCE... FLORENCE JUNCTION... FOUNTAIN HILLS... GILA BEND... GILBERT... GLENDALE... GLOBE... GOODYEAR... GUADALUPE... LAVEEN... MESA... NEW RIVER... PARADISE VALLEY... PEORIA... PHOENIX... ROOSEVELT... SCOTTSDALE... SUN CITY... SUN CITY WEST... SUN LAKES... SUPERIOR... SURPRISE... TEMPE... TOLLESON... TONOPAH... WADDELL... WICKENBURG... WITTMANN AND YOUNGTOWN 426 AM MST THU SEP 16 2004
... A POTENTIAL CHANGE TO WET WEATHER AND COOLER TEMPERATURES ACROSS ARIZONA OVER THE WEEKEND...

AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE AREA WILL APPROACH ARIZONA FROM THE NORTHWEST THE NEXT FEW DAYS. THE FLOW AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM WILL HELP TO PULL LARGE AMOUNTS OF MOISTURE UP INTO SOUTH-CENTRAL AND PARTS OF SOUTHWEST ARIZONA OVER THE UPCOMING WEEKEND. AS A RESULT... THERE WILL BE INCREASING CHANCES OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THIS WEEKEND AND INTO MONDAY.

ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT FORM OVER THE WEEKEND... ESPECIALLY FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND SUNDAY COULD PRODUCE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL OVER MOST OF LA PAZ... YUMA... MARICOPA... NORTHWEST PINAL AND SOUTHERN GILA COUNTIES. THEN ON MONDAY... A COLD FRONT WILL HELP TO PUSH THE MOISTURE OUT OF THE AREA... BUT NOT BEFORE GIVING MORE CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS... THIS TIME WITH BRIEF HEAVY RAIN... GUSTY WINDS AND HAIL POSSIBLE.

PERSONS PLANNING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES OVER THE WEEKEND... INCLUDING BOATERS... CAMPERS AND HIKERS... SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE UPCOMING CHANGE TO WETTER WEATHER... ESPECIALLY LATE SATURDAY... SUNDAY AND INTO MONDAY... AND PLAN ACCORDINGLY....

Sorry for the Caps its copied and pasted.

And here is the forcast for Sunday for Tempe.
Sun
Sep 19 Isolated T-Storms 91°/75° Chance of Rain 30 %

I was hoping for like 100 degrees, give the cardinals more of a chance. Bah.

:cards: It's all good....

At anything less than 100 it's going to be fall weather for the Cardinals. 90 to 100 still plenty hot for those not accustomed.

I was going to mention this earlier.... it might be *gasp* overcast for the game. All those whiners who didn't want to come to the game because it was too hot might miss out on a nice game.

Reminds me of the last time the Redskins were in town, it was overcast all day long, what a nice game.

I think we're more likely to win now, not less. The Pats were gearing up for intense heat, they'll mentally ease up a bit, and feel less worried. Yep, this will turn out to be bad, bad news for the Pats. I guarantee our home w-l record is much better in the 80s than when temps are in the 100s.

You think thats funny, I used to live in Denver for a year and a half. When it snowed (even lightly), I wouldnt leave the house. My friends would call and ask if I wanted to go out. I would say, "Um have you looked outside lately?, ITS FRICKIN SNOWING"! They would say, its not even coming down hard. Well I didnt go. I dont in drive in the rain here.

BTW, it might rain here on sunday, tropical storm Javier is creeping up Mexico right now.

Wishful thinking, these are the SUPERBOWL CHAMPS. I doubt they take anyhting for granted. I for one would love the rain, keeps the benches cooler.

I think they're screwed, Super Bowl champs or not. They'll lose this game, I've been convinced of it since the day the schedule came out. And, I'm not some crazy koolaider, I think we'll have a losing record this season.
