Getting Dwash back in the mix solves everything, it may even help the pass rush, have to figure out this saga...

I can't help but think he got into the doghouse because he missed ALL of training camp and only played in the 4th pre-season game? #vet hamstring

By the time Washington comes back he will be 30 years old, two years removed from his last NFL action, and is a player that self-admittedly says he relies on his pure ability and not his smarts.

Doesn't add up to anything that could help this team. He puffed away his prime years in the league, and he will be in no shape or mental form to come back and play well in his 30's.

DWash's NFL career is over, IMO.

They can cut Washington next year as a post-June 1st cut, save 4.5 mil and eat 1.5 mil in dead money for the two following years, but that will be the best move for the Cardinals IMO.

It's pretty bad that he can't get on the field. There's a Dansby trade suggestion and it was brought up here as well. The 9ers traded a 6th rounder and rookie center Nick Easton to the Vikings for Gerald Hodges. That would have been a nice player to pick up to shore up our biggest weakness. How much do other trades affect the market if we were to make a call about Dansby?

Yep

I was never sold on Spoon because he wasn't much more than adequate on some bad Falcons Ds

My brother is a Falcon fan and I watched a few of their games and I can safely say Spoon was far more than just adequate but I think coming back from this injury he lacks what other players already had which did make a successful comeback and that is strength... Spoon relied on quicks and it seems to have affected him

Yep.
Once he is behind it is hard to pass players that are healthy and playing well.

He is a situational player and veteran depth at this point. Plus it is only 4 games in. Against power teams with redzone opportunities he will probably see more time. I think he would have played more against SF if they weren't down 3 TD so early.

I have two issues with the signing of Sean Weatherspoon.

1-They didn't sign/draft anyone else in case a guy who has been out the better part of two years got reinjured.

2-They paid him way too much for the one year of the deal unlike they have done with most other vets they bring in.

Stephone Anthony has been looking pretty decent for New Orleans, we could've taken him with our 1st pick. Instead we have lazy a$$ DJ Foster riding the inactive list.

It was a low risk deal for a veteran who has proven he can play at a high level. Unfortunately it didn't pan out, but most of these deals don't when you look around the league. Fortunately, Keim has a golden hand when it comes handing out these type of deals. I'm sure we will sign a veteran FA ILB on a comparable deal soon.

Hopefully not a Karnac-like moment about the 2016 season.

+1.

It beats the days of Rod Graves, who probably still would have the memo on his desk that the team needs an ILB.

if free agent failure is defined as a guy signed to a one year, $3mm contract who doesnt work out

I can live with those kinds of misses

+1, and he wasn't a total miss either, Bucannon and Minter played well enough and neither got injured. Surprised at how bad Spoon was at ST though.

So much better than Stewart Bradley, which is a great example of a miss.
