Let's not panic. I know there are two weeks for us to tie ourselves up in knots. Yesterday's result was certainly disappointing. There was very, very little positive to dwell on after this game.

That said, it seems like everyone came out healthy, which is what many here claimed were the only thing we wanted.

Finally, winning this game wasn't going to drive a stake through the heart of the Seattle dynasty. That's going to have to wait.

On that matter we can agree.

Everyone but the three on your heroes list needs to be on the Goats. I couldn't even stomach to finish the game.

That game felt very much like the Same Ol' Cards.

Good call about Bethel and reducing his snaps by scheming around him - hope it comes to fruition.

Palmer's INT was actually a result of Fitz being held/mauled by Earl Thomas... Still amazed that the refs let that go and that was the initial spark that ignited BA's first half explosion on the refs!!

+1. The game went down hill from there.

K9, were we watching the same game? Let's address one of the heroes first:

Cardinals Season Ticket-holders

The Red Sea must’ve partied pretty hard on New Year’s to still be too hung over to show up to the game in force on the third. Hopefully fans who sold their tickets got a good deal to defray the cost of playoff seats.
How is selling their seats to Seahawk fans make them heroes?

As for goats, Palmer's INT was due to a non-call. Fitz was interfered with leaving the timing pattern throw up for grabs. Not Palmer's fault. As for Butler, as bad as he's been he wasn't the problem yesterday. The defense literally laying down was. But if you're going to mention a goat kicker and not mention Cat is mindboggling. He missed his 5th extra point of the season yesterday and his 4th FG. While the FG miss can be excused, missing another extra point is absurd.

Butler actually had a couple of very good booms yesterday. None of that was Butlers fault IMO. Kicks were high, long, and had decent hang time. He looked pretty pissed at one point, but I probably would be too if I just kicked the best of my career and the coverage team screwed my average so bad.

It looked to me as if Berry had position and Fitz ran into him. I didn't see Berry put his hands on Fitz or jump in front of him.

Drew Butler, P

It’s clear that the special teams staff wasn’t doing much to scheme though the unit’s deficiencies. That said, Butler has to find a way to not let Seattle dominate in all three phases of the game.

Whether they chose not to scheme for the Seahawks and Lockett on special teams, or just didn't have the needed intensity... you'd think after the first or SECOND huge punt returns by Lockett, Butler would've been instructed to just send every punt out of bounds.

I was watching from a bar so i couldn't be sure, but much of the year they've been using Peterson and a couple of other starters on punt coverage. Were they out there yesterday? If not, perhaps a combination of lower-talent replacement players, and some guys playing together on special teams for the first time, contributed to the debacle.

K-9, you make good points in your analysis. I am convinced that this game will only serve to sharpen that stake for when our Cards meet the Hawks again. They will not forget the low diving attempts to Palmer and Redding's legs by the Hawks, nor will they dismiss the antics of Pete Carrol on the sideline and occasionally out onto the field.
