I am now accepting apologies from whomever said "Isaiah Adams played good Sunday". He actually played worse than his normal awfulness.

I have never seen a 26.5 pass block grade. Meanwhile, Christian Jones can't run block, which also tracks with any runs to that side.

And he made that great splash play. Yeah, I think he was a steal.

If you can trade Jalen (which I doubt) then they should and move on to DTD. I think he's already a better player. Faster, more instinctive, far better in coverage.

That was a terrible contract for Jalen. He has a nearly $14m cap hit next year and his completely mediocre. Only 3 PD's, no INTs, no sacks, no forced fumbles and only 61 combined tackles on the year.

DTD has 5 passes defended and a FF with 37 tackles in only 258 snaps.

But he handled Bosa.

very curious why the staff moved to Adams post bye with Colon healthy

i can remember at least 1 or 2 pivotal plays in each SEA game, CAR and LA where he either had a penalty, or, he gave up instant pass rush pressure in a key moment

he basically started the last five games of the season

two holding calls on first downs in the opponent red zone --

one wiped out a 35 yard gain to McBride that would have been 1/10 at the LA 39

It's great that Adams can run block, but he is an atrocious pass blocker. He was a bad pass blocker in college, too. If a RB is terrible at pass blocking, they don't play on passing downs. The bar should obviously be higher for Olinemen. I don't see how Adams can continue to be a full time lineman unless he unexpectedly improves his pass blocking immensely.

Also, very few people mention it outside of this board, but Darius Robinson had an absolutely disastrous rookie year. You can't blame everything on his hamstring injury, either. His pass rush grade is ranked 216th out of 219 DTs on PFF. They also credit him for 2 total pressures in 6 games. Braden Fiske, who went 13 picks after Robinson, had 55 pressures in 17 games. Jer'zhon Newton had 18 pressures in 16 games while coming off his own injury. Robinson probably played the run better than those guys, but he wasn't exactly great there, either. Maybe Robinson improves as a pass rusher, but right now it's just pure wishful thinking to expect him to do so.

Take the PFF grades for O-lineman with a grain of salt. Their evaluators aren't pros and they surely don't know what the assignments are for a lineman on any given play, which makes assigning responsibility for performance uncertain at best.

My guess is that the coaches see something worth developing in Adams or they wouldn't have started him over Trystan Colon for the last 5 games.

We have so much cap space that moving on from Thompson may not be much of an impediment.

His pass blocking needs work but I've definitely seen flashes in his run blocking. There was a play against SF where he pancaked two defenders.

IMO,..it was both to strengthen the run game as well as to get him some live reps. Rumor has Colon already out the door so they need to get Adams ramped up to handle the load..or get his replacement

never mind that Williams is clearly the best slot corner in the NFL and consistently grades out as a top 3 CB
but he is just a slot corner.............

I already said there is one excellent pick and one good pick out of the 6 DBs taken
