There was nobody in front of Bethel, he was on the side where Givens was, the safety was nowhere near him and based on the look on his face and the reaction of his teammates patting him on the head I think it's pretty obvious who blew the coverage.

I believe in one of the post-game interviews or articles Bethel admitted that he thought the D was in a different coverage.

I remember that play.Otherwise from what i saw Niklas did okay but some will never like him because of when he was picked, his college and whatever;.

I'm a H-U-G-E Floyd fan/apologist for reasons that are kind of mysterious to me. I'm also a huge Chris Johnson fan (and fantasy owner). I was so stoked to see him get a TD finally. But aside from the questionable call on the 62-yarder, he averaged 3.5 YPC and on the final drive had three carries for 2 yards.

Yup... 98 of his 122 yards came on 3 carries. The 62 yarder was highly, highly questionable. He had a total of 18 carries for the game. Quite sub-par no matter how you look at it.
Further, he was a ghost after that 62 yard scamper. He was literally done, shot, toast. Clearly, his conditioning is nowhere near where it should be.

To be fair, Arians went to Ellington after that. It could have been conditioning, or it could have been just trying to get Ellington up to fitness as well.

It isn't that black and white.

He just doesn't do anything and when he gets any sort of playing time, he gets hurt.

Weinfuss did a story yesterday about his chance now that Fells is out. how with Fells we're a much better run team and we're hoping Niklas can do the same thing while he's in. He just doesn't.

There is talent but 8 games so far in his career, 5 targets 4 catches just under 13YPC. Arians said the kid has all the talent in the world he just can't get better because he misses practice so much.

Eventually he's going to have to get healthy or he'll never stay in the NFL.

I don't think he's 100% yet but to be fair, that game should have been over at that point. Wasn't his fault we let them back in the game.

Two points. I think the fumble was so close. you had to call it however the refs called it on the field.

Second, Bethel was clearly expecting over the top help. Without being in the locker room or having it explained, we will never know if the safety was late coming over, or if Bethel was supposed to follow.

Bethel took ownership for that play after the game. He actually said it's a play he wishes he can have back...

Not really... the very next play BA ran the ball with CJ who literally flopped/collapsed for a 2 yard gain. That was with 4 mins left in the 3rd quarter. CJ wasn't seen in the game again until 4 mins left in the 4th, when the Cards were trying to run time off the clock and gave the ball to CJ 3 more times and he gained a total of ONE yard. He was GASSED...

Being tired after that run isn't really his fault. Most people would be. I am more surprised he wasn't substituted after that long run.

I think they were rushing to get the play off to avoid a challenge, so no time for a substitution.

I get that. As long as they were sure he wasn't down, it should have been an issue though. Forward momentum isn't reviewable.

Yep and I can't believe Harbaugh didn't just throw it, the ref must have told him he couldn't challenge or something.

I'm not gonna make a huge case about CJ's conditioning... I mean, the guy had no OTA's and no pre-season. But the fact is that last night, really for the first time, showed his lack of conditioning.
Yea, many backs would be tired after that 62 yard run. But, it wasn't like he ran 100 yards. And it wasn't like he was dragging and bouncing off of a ton of guys. And, as I mentioned, he was essentially useless the rest of the game.

That all said, he's been amazing given his lack of conditioning and I can only imagine what he would've been like had a he had normal off-season!

They were just talking about this on 98.7... say one of the Ravens comes up and blindsides CJ right as he is getting up... the AZ coaches (and us) are going nuts about a late hit if that happens. A smart play by CJ, but should have been whistled down.

We might have wanted a late hit, but according to the rules, it wouldn't have been.

I'd swap out Cat-Man for Niklas as a goat.

And

I'd give Jefferson a spot on the hero list over Floyd. That INT was clutch!

My 2 cents...

Yea it was, but the reason they were down that close to the endzone was because Jefferson got burned a few times in the drive to get them there.
