Second, I get that he fits Gannon's mold and I am giving Gannon all the time in the world to prove out. I'm simply concerned, because while he might fit Gannon's vision, I can easily see it being seen as a "well, I guess not everything's changing" situation from a player's perspective, and I did not want that kind of a possibility in any way, shape, or form around Kyler Murray. For one, it's a built-in excuse for apologists if he continues to fail, and for another, we have no idea if Whipple is viewed positively or negatively by Kyler. If they don't work well together, that's not good. While I'm sure JG did his homework on this issue, it's just one more niggling worry. This coaching hire process has not been without question, and while it's certainly a different approach, there are a number of concerns. This, to me, is a concern.
