How does Hightower let the ball come loose at all ?

Ridiculous. Hightower is not good enough to fumble as much as he does.

I understand your position because if I was a running back I would be clutching the ball with two hands at that point in the game. Better yet, the coach should have had the QB just downing the ball. However, it's hard to criticize Hightower on this possession when his knees were down when the ball came out.

The referees fumbled the call as Hightower was down with the knees before the ball came out.

Not just his knees but his thighs were on the ground before it came out. It was horrible that it came out at all, inexcusable.

This is a BS post. How well a fan on this board would do hanging on to the ball in an NFL game is completely irrelevant. Hightower should never have let the ball meet the turf there. No way. No how. Inexcusable.

I thought so, but i knew by the fact that it wasn't 100% clear all the way, we were going to get hosed.

Yes, these were initially my thoughts as well. However, I grew more confident as I watched each replay that confirmed Hightower was down. I guess the referees were too timid to overturn the call with a rabid crowd.

This is right on. Hightower had one job to do and that was not turn the ball over. Bad call or not, he failed.

Why call a running play at all? Just kneel FCOL... Hightower has a real problem,especially in the beggining of games. He bookended fumbles in this game...

The Rams had 3 timeouts left. All we needed was for Hightower to hold onto the football to make them use them. Failed.

Hightower deserves to be benched. On a team that prides itself on accountability and competition, Tim Hightower has earned a seat on the pine. I will take a little less productivity from LSH/Wright for a little more ball security.

I like the way college handles reviews - the booth makes the decision. No referee wants to overrule himself or his crew. He comes out of the booth (viewer) and still converses with his mates before announcing a call! Shouldn't be that way.
