How this team could lollygag through practice leading up to an opening week against a Super Bowl contender AFTER the humiliating end to last season is beyond me.
Yep. These are troubling words. How much more can you be prepared than having an entire offseason?

You lollygag the ball around the backfield, you lollygag your way down to the line of scrimmage, you lollygag on and off the field. You know what that makes the Cardinals? Larry?

Kliff Whisenhunt "The system works"

The system being, to go through the motions at practice like it's the final day of school your senior year in high school and turn it on during games to what amounts to a low-effort practice level.

So...anyone thinking kliff is just using the cardinals as a springboard to the Bama job?

Hey last 2 years we dominated the first half and then sucked. I rather struggle first half and then start playing well and get into playoffs on a hot note.
Would rather dominate both than have to play catch up and potentially come up short at the end.

This franchise went 10-6 and still missed the playoffs.

Practice...practice...we’re talking about practice man! Lol

This is embarrassing that an NFL team is even being discussed about it’s lackadaisical practice habits going into week 2 of an NFL season! Embarrassing! A total reflection of its HC & obviously other coaches. This is squarely on him! Getting you team ready for a grueling 17 game schedule has nothing to do with Keim & Michael imo.

Wasn’t it Kliff who called off day 2 of joint practice with the Titans, because they practiced well in day 1? Hmmmm. Think about that!!! Come on Coach grow a freaking pair! Push your guys or get the hell out. No wonder his teams fail down the stretch 9 years in a row.

I talked with former Cards Olineman Luis Sharpe Sunday night when reports of Hollywood’s comments about poor practice habits came out. He said this is what you get when you don’t use preseason as a precursor you your regular season. He said, think about how a player performs once he comes back from a period of absence of injury. How could anyone expect that player to perform at the peak of his abilities? He said the same should be expected at the start of the season, there’s a reason for training camp. He said it was a complete debacle & you cannot rest your players the entire preseason & be ready to go week 1. Real talk from a former Redbird.

Come on man don’t you know preseason is worthless? We’ve been told that time and time again now that McVay won a Super Bowl and the Cardinals started off 7-0 last year… clearly the most successful coaches in the NFL over the last two decades don’t have a clue what they’re doing and these former players like Luis are idiots and clueless that think preseason means anything just ask ASFN posters they’ll educate you…..

Hey now I fought it tooth and nail, I know preseason should be a full 1/4 of the overall season all the way back to watching 12 regular season games- 4 preseason 12 regular season 4 post season. each game mattered more and players were more apt to survive at peak performance the whole time! called me a so and so

still not establishing the run early, I mean unless you call km scrambling a run game? It does not change the defense! the defense plays balls out pass defense the entire game, with balls out pass rush, like we are behind, desperately trying to score before time runs out. Sounds like fun and games till your defense is on the field for an hour as the offense has less then 2 minute 3 and outs!

but still cards under whiz, BA and KK do just that. And blame the oline and the defense. They haven’t got a fair shot to be good, with Coaches like this who needs opponents! Fundamentally flawed play calling, game planning, no run game staff, media, fan even peep one freaking cardinal chirp about a run game. Run the damn ball bird chitty.

I just want one player to come out and state with a passion "I don't know about the rest of the guys, but from this point on I refuse to suck at football"
Seriously! We got a few heated words after the game. Where are all the players coming out this week with "This ish isn't good enough" statements? Where's the outrage, the emotion? Or are they all pouring their hearts into freaking dancing at practice?

We were going to lose to the Chiefs regardless. But that was a flat out pathetic performance.

They better bring it hard for the raiders. Or this season will be another LONG one.

I wonder if we've taken the view that we prepared hard the last couple of years, started the campaigns well but then burnt out in the second half of both seasons

So this season tried to go for a more tapered approach. Don't peak too early. Time our run better.

However miscalculated how easing off a fraction + some untimely injuries would leave us exposed against a genuine contender
This would suggest that kliff knows what he’s doing.

This is one of my favs . . .

“We'll get better,” Kingsbury said. “So I anticipate us getting better, and last year we started hot and didn’t end really well, so hopefully we can kind of flip that trend.”

Hey coach, why not try not to suck at any time during the season? Flipping it means y’all are going suck for the next 5-6 games too? I’m pretty sure he didn’t mean that, but it’s what he said. It’s why I question his intelligence.
