Im not here to bring down you guys.. But the last time I cared about Weird Al when I was like 8 years old and he did "Eat It".. I thought it was funny as a little kid.. Got older and didn't care about him anymore.

You didnt enjoy Amish paradise? or All about the pentiums?

I dont have any weird al tattoos but ive always wanted to be famous for making fun of songs like he is.

Amiosh paradise was on mtv and stuff, its a parody of coolios gangsters paradise. Its a must watch, check it out on youtube.

All about the pentiums is a nerd version of Puff daddys all about the benjamins.

Both hilarious!

Churn butter once or twice living in an amish paradise!

Weird Al will be at the San Diego County Fair at Del Mar on Monday, July 1st this year.

:jedi:

Bring it, Al !!!

:band:

Weird Al was great again this year. We saw him at Del Mar on Monday night. He played for about 2 hours and 15 minutes. Encore was The Saga Begins and Yoda. I always look forward to the "Yoda chant." One song missing from last year's show was Albuquerque, but I don't blame him considering it is a very long song. Got his new concert shirt after the show. Didn't realize - until I read the tour dates on the back of the shirt - that we had just seen the very first show of the 2013 tour.

nice!

looks like $40 a pop.

hmm.

I think they have, or had, seats at $32 and others at $40.

We were going to go see him when we were in Minnesota once and the tickets were something like $79 and $129.

We have seen him multiple times at state fairs. Twice I purchased floor seats and all the other times we have watched from general admission seats (free with fair admission).

Not sure if you're in the demographic, Gee.

Yeah I was wondering if he would be at the fair this year and I could just two birds with one stone.

Torn on either going to the show or just watching all the videos on the xbox with the kids.

My daughter would appreciate a lot of the newer stuff. I will relate to all of it. My son is too young and would think it is a real concert and not sure if the wife even knows who weird al is.

New album Mandatory Fun comes out on Tuesday (July 15th).

Can't wait.

There is even a song about grammar called "Word Crimes" which is a parody of "Blurred Lines."

I loved Weird Al growing up in the 80s. Can't believe he is still around producing more classics.

so I dont know the happy song well but the video was entertaining and I understood some of the words but not all

The word crimes was entertaining, especially because I could read the words (i am terrible at catching the lyrics in songs). It was clever and a subject I totally agree with but thats as far as ill go. Im interested in hearing "foil" and "inactive" but he didnt do any songs I actually like (the original) this time around.

Al hits #1

https://music.yahoo.com/blogs/chart-watch/chart-watch-10-weird-facts-about-weird-al-153549914.html

This week, "Weird Al" Yankovic's Mandatory Fun became the first comedy album in more than 50 years to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The last time one headed the chart was Allan Sherman's My Son, The Nut, which held on to the top position for eight weeks 1963, when little Al Yankovic was just turning four.

Mandatory Fun, which sold 104K copies this week, is the first comedy album in history to debut at No. 1. Previously, the fastest-rising comedy album was Vaughn Meader's The First Family, a spoof of the Kennedy family, which shot to No. 1 in two weeks in December 1962.

Between 1960 and 1963, five comedy albums hit No. 1: three by Sherman (My Son, The Folk Singer; My Son, The Celebrity, and My Son, The Nut), two by future sitcom legend Bob Newhart (The Button-Down Mind Of Bob Newhart and The Button-Down Mind Strikes Back!) and the aforementioned political spoof by Meader.
