I found it crazy how the announcers kept bragging how we were the number 1 D. I don't care what stat they have that makes us number 1. I've never felt that we are even a top 10 D. Very weird.

This team is terrible. I mostly blame Coaching due to the talent on this team as a whole.. But everyone has let the fan base down from the top right on down. From the head scratching personnel moves to the lack of effort from players and the mind boggling coaching decisions.

We are just a bad team and it's time most of us just accept that fact.
I don't think we're a bad team. Cleveland is a bad team. SF is a bad team. The Jets are a bad team. We have a lot of talent on this team. This team just lost it's swagger and that's on the coaches. I think in the beginning of the year the team bought into it's own hype then after losing 3 of the first 4 games, the "uh oh" mindset set in. Execution isn't there either. As has been said, a few plays her and there and things might be different but right now we're not getting the breaks we used to get so I don't think we're a bad team, just lost. Let me give you an example of not getting the breaks:

Against Seattle, chip shot FG and Cat doinks it off the goalpost. Last night, KC's kicker doinks it off the goalpost and it goes through anyway. This was us last year. This isn't happening this year. It happens. We'll see what kind of moxie this team has after a down year.

Bidwill, Arians and Keim have said they get along because they keep to their separate lanes. But are the lanes mutually exclusive? One of the most important lanes is personnel. Can Keim overrule Arians or do they have to agree? Who made the decisions about our punter and about only keeping Drew Stanton as QB backup?

The future looks as bleak as the current state of affairs. Some questionable drafting and salary allocation decisions. Now I have doubts Chandler Jones will sign with Cards.

Doubt or no doubt, it doesn't matter.

Franchise tag.

Looks like a long few years, I wonder if I'll even still be watching the NFL , have lost interest steadily

+1.

Usually the Sunday Ticket is a good deal. If the Cardinals are not on it is worth the price. I do not think I have watched a single non-Cardinals game this year, and the Cardinals' games this year have been EXTREMELY wanting when it comes to entertainment value.

The last 3 years have been so entertaining that I cannot complain about this year, but this year is so bad, it evens out the situation.

Thus I am at an impasse, personally. I stopped paying for the NHL Center Ice, and I do not miss it at all. Starting to lean that way with the NFL ticket, and for TV service in my house entirely for that matter.

We will see. The Cardinals addiction runs deep, and to make such decision at a time where the team is at rock bottom so to speak is silly. But, if I spend another offseason only 1/2 paying attention to the NFL, it may be time to make some changes.

That all being said. As a Cardinals fan, this has been a HELL of a ride over the last 3 years, it is worth dealing with a season like this, when you have the fun you had 3 years before.

They clarified #1 in yards allowed not in points allowed which is more important.

Agree completely with this. These stats are making it seem as if our DC is doing a better job than he is. I have said on other threads that Bettcher is average at best. This D is just not what it was under Bowles.

You can't excuse it away with talent. Were a bad team. We may not be awful but we are bad.

Calling my shot. Arians retires due to "health reasons" :(

I doubt it Shane. BA has a lot of pride & I don't see him going out like this. He had the chip on his shoulder for being passed over for a HC for all these years so he had something to prove. Quitting after a little adversity is not in his DNA imho.

You know, Arians retiring due to health issues might not be a bad thing. He's shown some alarming tendencies and denials this year. Palmer and Fitz retiring after him wouldn't be terrible either. I mean, I'd like Fitz back, but if it takes him retiring to rid us of Palmer, so be it. This is a great destination, so we could lure in a good coach, one we could trust to find us a new QB and to rebuild the offense. Right now, I really don't trust Arians to do that.

If asked before the season, I'd never have believed I'd be typing this today.

So you prefer the days of Max Hall, John Skelton , & others? Seems odd to me. Last year he was in the running for league MVP. Just can't please everyone I guess.

Last year is ancient history, and it will be even more distant next year. It's a what have you done for me lately league, and he's an aging QB without much left in the tank, due a HUGE cap hit next season. No, I don't want to go back to those days, but you can't eat a huge cap hit and roll with an AARP QB either. We'll have to take a leap of faith in BASK to find us a new QB.

Agree. This team has peaked already. There are too many up and coming teams now, maybe another one or two next season with Goff and Wentz leading those teams. They need a significant re-tool. Maybe not a rebuild. QB is glaring between this year and last. Not all Palmers fault, but outside of TB win, we haven't shown that we can put anyone away, even with a great year from DJ.

I'm not freaking out because I have 100% more faith in Michael to fix this than Bill Sr. Every team not named the Patriots has down years and I refuse to entertain that this is your SOC's long term. Yes this year has sucked but a large part of this is because we all had such high expectations.

I'm all in with this.

We're #9 in offense and #1 in defense(in yardage). Bad teams aren't in the top 10 in either category let alone both and never #1 in either. We're not a bad team, just don't have our heads completely in it this season.

How many wins does offensive and defensive ranking earn you? Bubkus. Stats don't mean a damn thing, as statistical anomalies happen all the time. It is crystal clear that we suck.

As much as I dont give the Cards ownership a pass for decades of mismanagement based on recent success, the fact is that we're in a much better position to lure free agents and coaches now, and at least for the next few years. It's not the good bad old days until we can't do that.

Numbers lie sometime. We suck. We are what we are. A mediocre or bad team. No fantasy of your's gives us any more wins or any less losses.

Well let's hope it doesn't get like the Vince Tobin or Kent graham athe qb type of days. I remember one gm think was vs the pats where the cards didn't get past the 50 yds line all gm lol....
