Good run down. They reassigned Sherfy. No biggie there. It looks like closer is for sure up for grabs in ST and the first two months at least. Ginkel is not one in the running right off. He'll likely make the squad and best case he'll have the chance to prove himself starting with the 7th inning.

Apparently they DFA-ed Sherfy to make room for Rondon. Absolutely shocked they didn't DFA Bracho or Andriese instead.

In no particular order, these numbers are projected for Hector Rondon and for 9 other D-Backs relievers, with the understanding that there will be 8 relievers max on the active roster (and that maximum of 8 assumes that no starters are moved down into the bullpen).

Try guessing (without looking it up) which of the above players represents Rondon.

More interesting experiment, again without looking up the stats for each player, pick which two players out of the 10 above you would cut from the active roster.

I will provide the players' identities later.

In the meantime do you still think Rondon is not just another guy in this pen and is worth money that could otherwise be spent on a line-up upgrade? Do you think his projected numbers stick out in any positive way here?

Bracho is hopeless. His demeanor on the mound is the least confident I've seen since Byung-hyun Kim.

They both remind me of awkward teenagers at a high school prom.

Bracho has a short stature as it is. Then he hunches himself down to look even smaller.

I hope that means Bracho is the next to go.

At least according to the projected stats for 2020, it will either be him or Stefan Crichton. Andriese had the worst projections...by far.

Meanwhile, Lopez, Ginkel and Bradley are the only relievers in this group to stick out in a positive way even a little.
