After being up part of the night with my 9 mos. old daughter, and somewhere in the middle of that thinking of my pre-father days, I woke up this morning and she looked at me and gave me the biggest smile in the world. All the other crap melted away......

Congratulations - it is a blast

I have always said, you will now know the real meaning of love...

Keep this in mind, you now move to the bottom of the list. Your baby will move to the top of the list, followed by your wife. Your wife will move to number 2 on the list because her efforts in labor will far exceed anything you will ever accomplish in your lifetime. By the way, if you have any pets they will also be listed above you on the list. Get used to the idea of looking up.

So true. Congrats, dude! I have two kids and they truly are the greatest treasure anyone could ever ask for. God bless you and your family.

Have to agree with CardsNot and red desert. My 3 year old tells me every day when I pick him up from school "Daddy, you are my best friend in the whole world." When you here that, all the other crap goes away.

Congratulations!!!!!

Congrats BEERZ!

Another little Cards fan to help fill up our stadium. My brother had a kid two years ago, and in a few years we will have to get one more season ticket!

A cute game (similar to peekaboo or paddy cake) that should be fun for Peyton is called "Move to the Ball"

You hold a nurf football in front of him, shift it left or right, and get Peyton to move toward it when you yell "Ball!".

Seriously - Adding a new life to the world and being responsible for its welfare, happiness and development is what it's all about.

Congrats!

Oh Canada!
Big congrats to you and your wife.
BTW what kind of time do you think little Peyton can run in the 40?
Can he rush the passer? Cuz if so I've got job for him already.
Cheers!:D

One more thing -

Don't be surprised if Peyton is a girl. Those amneosyntesis (spelling?) tests aren't one hundred percent reliable. That slight amount of uncertainty adds to the anticipation. As long as the child's healthy.

Congrats! You sound like your ready to be a dad and that's a good thing. Watching your kid grow up and being a dad is the coolest thing I know of. You will have so much fun whether it's taking him out camping and fishing or taking him to football practice or a Cards game he will instantly be your best friend and your pride and joy. Good luck on being a dad, I know you'll love it.

Congrats BEERZ.

As many have said you discover true love when a baby comes into your life. That doesn't mean one doesn't love their spouse more than life itself, but a baby is another level all together.

To illustrate this point and to tie this into football I have a story to share. The Cards are playing the Redskins about 4 years ago. The Cards got off to one of their few good starts in the game, especially offensively. They had built a decent lead and I'm loving life holding my grandson and watching the Cards whoop on the Skins. Then the game starts to turn and the Redskins are coming back. With my grandson Damien sleeping in my arms I'm getting more and more frustrated and upset with the game. Normally at this point things would have been thrown and more things broken. I want to scream and shout at (I'm sure it had to be Plummer) but as I look down on Damien sleeping in my arms I start to calm down. A certain peace comes over me and although I think the Cards lost that game I couldn't swear to it.

Having a baby in your life really does put everything else into perspective.

Enjoy your new treasure.

Congrats!! I have 3 young boys all ready to grow up and support the Cards with the old man. It gets hectic at times, and you need to dig deep for that extra dosage of patience, but nothings better than to come home from work, and have your kids run up to you, and see the joy in their faces. Stronso said it best, everything else melts away!!
