I’ve had a full hour to consider the implications of the injury to Wells. Here is my take: The only things I consider as facts at this point is that his left ankle was rolled on during practice and he rode a cart off the field to be treated. Without knowing more, and we probably won’t for a while, there is no way to predict how much he will miss, he could be back tomorrow or out forever. I’ll go with the, by far, most likely possibility and assume he misses some time during the next week of practice.

Does this hurt his chance of starting week 1? Yes, but it’s not like our running game was our strength last year. Meanwhile, Hightower is stronger, wiser and more prepared to get the job done. Jason Wright is also a very smart, hardworking pro looking to get a job done. Our 7th rd pick, SLH, may get more of an opportunity to prove he is a miracle.

I can not predict the outcome of this situation. Therefore I will not panic or jump to conclusions. I also just read information which makes it more likely the injury is minor. Go Cards! That is all that matters.

I believe it's all the Graves fault. If he hadn't been in such a rush to sign Wells he would still be home safe and sound.

I believe in you Beanie!!!!

There ya' go, that's the right attitude. More reports are making it sound not so bad, "may have ran a play after the injury", "was smiling".

Wells will be fine. Hightower is our starter anyway. And Jason Wright is as good a backup as they come.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Hoping for the best. Ankle injuries are tricky even if they arre just a twist. Best to let him rest and not rush him back

he is fine, dude was smiling and any player which hurts his leg with the fieldhouse so far away is going to take the cart...especially after they signed a big contract ;)

right? :)

I live somewhere
luckily we got time before the first regular season game when we will need him and at least he is already in the best shape of his life thanks to the most kick ass strength coach in the NFL John Lott
