IMHO there is no way this orginazation brings him back. the past is the past and not a part of our future.
In regards to WB trying for a come back somewhere I wish him the best as (almost) everyone deserves a second chance.
The CFL perhaps?

I'll never be in favor of leaglizing MJ if it makes people act like that.
 Yeah, that's it; it was the evil weed, which caused Bryant to screw up! :bang:

Be assured, marijuana was the least of the causes of Bryant's issues. Realize that alcohol addiction is far more destructive and dehabilitating; physically, mentally, physiologically than marijuana.

I wonder if the lack of any other talent next to him (if I recall correctly) and the lack of decent ooaching factored at all? Tiny bit?

The original article that this thread is about? No it didn't.Yeah it was the weed. Not all of the Ecstasy and alcohol he was sucking down.

I read an entire article that clearly stated the Graves was not interested WB. I'm not sure if it is the same one the OP was discussing or not. I apologize if my post was misleading in that respect.

The more I read about the things that were going on with the players during that time period the more I begin to think that is was the players and not really the coaches that were the problem. It sure explains the wholesale makeover of the team after the 2002 season where several veterans were sent packing.

But since Paul Harvey died last February we'll never really know the rest of the story.

I, for one, hope he gets his second chance. It's really difficult to put your life back together, and I admire and respect anyone that actually does the incredibly hard work it takes to get into recovery & make it stick. His mind (after reading the article RyanWB posted) is completely in the right place.

He blames no one but himself, as he should. He's hoping for a 2nd chance to prove his worth. I really hopes he gets it, and is able to be of value somewhere.

I have read a quote by Graves saying the same thing, along the lines of, "We aren't interested but good luck to Wendell." I was just pointing out that when I was all :bhiich: , I hadn't read that yet.
