I'm not a huge Howard fan but he was clearly not 100% and still played well. On that play the mistake was the bad pass, he really had no chance to stop Iguodala there, probably could have fouled him but figured better to just step aside.

The backup PG for the Rockets is really hurting them in this series, keeps leaving Curry open and isn't the 3 point threat Jason Terry is.

Steph Curry is just fun as hell to watch. His step back is beautiful. Gotta tame those TOs tho.

Curry was unreal. Houston looks beat.

So, is this going to be a sweep now?

I think Houston will gut one out myself.

Hope the Harden story is not true.

I'm not convinced... that's just a couple of guys on twitter wanting attention and the media taking the bait.

There would be more than just two tweets if he was indeed clubbing the night before the game.

Man, i sure hope Curry recovers from that nasty fall. Complete recovery that is, seeing how they will be playing a tougher Cavs team

I never cease to be amazed with NBA refs and their tendencies to try and even things out.

Warriors up 3-0, let's not call anything on houston. At the half Warriors with 5 FT's, the Rockets with 17. And it's not like Houston is attacking the rim more, both teams are jacking up 3's.

Warriors cut it to 10, Harden clearly fouls Livingston on the break, no call, then Ariza nails a 3, Livingston fouls and instead of down 8, it's back to 14.

Last shot of the half first Ariza fouls Barnes, that's not enough So then Harden fouls him too, no call Rockets go in up 10.

I do wish Draymond Green would stop yelling And 1 though, he's been doing it all playoffs and I think the refs are starting to hold it against him.

I wouldn't put Steph back in today, if there'a game 5 hopefully he's ok for that. Really hard foul, I did that once in summer league in highschool and got a concussion.

how in the world did they not eject Howard?

Edit, now we know, if they kick him out he has too many flagrant points and can't play in the next game. So they rule it a flagrant 1.

that was ridiculous. The was a closed-fist to the face. Should be an automatic suspension for the next game.

Complete BS from the NBA...again. That's a textbook Flagrant 2, especially considering what happened in the other series the night before, and the explanation given for that call.

The worst part was hearing Javie's explanation for why having someone who just makes those calls is wrong. You have to have a feel for what's going on in the game. Huh? The person cant' be there watching the game? And that call is a one incident call, it doesn't matter if Bogut has been fouling Dwight just before or Bogut called Dwight overrated etc, the call is on what Dwight did right then, past history is irrelevant.

On the one hand they can overturn it and call it a Flagrant 2 after the fact, but I sort of hope they don't. If the Warriors are going to win it I want them to beat the Rockets with him.

More of the same though, Warriors cut it to 9, Harden throws up a prayer on the drive, arms flail head snaps back foul. Kerr complains there's no contact and gets a T, Harden puts them up 12 and then gets hot again and it's 19 like that game over. 2nd time in the game where a bad call/no call leads to a T on the Warriors, the other one was when Livingston got one for pointing out Green got hit on the head.

I read an essay by some former ref, it may have been Javie, that went on and on about how you have to know who the star players are, and who already has N fouls, and what the implications of making a call are. For example, the author was very explicit about letting stuff go on a potential 6th foul when it would be a foul under other circumstances. The author tried to frame it as a "what's going on in the game" question, but to me it was a damning indictment of everything that's wrong with NBA officiating.

Exactly, that Dwight Howard will miss the next game if you eject him should NOT factor into the decision. That decision is simple by rule it's a flagrant 2, contact above the shoulders, not a basketball play, and in this case intentional. On ESPN this morning they were all saying it was a clear F2. They all seem to agree that someone probably pointed out in the huddle if we kick him out that's 4 points and by rule he's suspended the next game, we don't want to do that. So the refs are letting the league deal with it.

Golic was saying the way they have changed the officiating they make it worse. In the old the days the players policed stuff, if you're a guy like Dellavadova who keeps doing risky things, someone will eventually just take your head off on a hard foul and you'll stop it. They'll find a way to get back at Dwight Howard etc. If Harden flopped on drives all the time 20 years ago, he'd be bruised and bleeding because guys would just keep fouling him hard until he stopped doing it. Nowadays there's so many rules about hard fouls, the instigator usually gets away with it, the retaliator gets caught, and then you end up with much more dangerous situations because players get fed up and take a cheap shot like Horford did.

Where was all this context about the situation in 2007?

The NBA is ran by idiots.

I disagree.. This playoff Cavs with Kyrie are better. Defensively, i don't think Rockets are even close.

I don't see it. Kyrie IMO is overrated, Cleveland is being and has been carried by LeBron from start to finish and these Western teams are just too good. I think (if healthy) either Houston or Golden State would steamroll the Cavs.

David Thorn, apparently with a straight face, says Howards facing a suspension if the foul is upgraded to a flagrant 2 played no role in his decision to NOT upgrade it. So Howard can play in game 5. he said it was unnecessary but NOT excessive. It was back of the hand not an elbow and that it started out with Howard trying to free up his arm from Bogut.

The play started out that way yes, the shot to the face didn't, he just got mad.

Oh well, I guess that's about what I expected.

The interesting thing, if Howard gets even one more T he's suspended.
