Eric Fisher going #1 overall tells you how bad this class is.The first round if rife with bust potential. The 2 best/surest picks in the entire round were Joeckel to Jax and Cooper to the Cards. Warmack to Tennessee is right there too. Lotlulelei to Carolina was a steal also.

As for everyone else you projects like Jordan, Mingo, and Ansah in the top 10 can all be considered reaches and are probably late 1st rounders in a normal year.

EJ Manuel in round 1, c'mon.

When it comes to DB's, there are usually a few standouts. NOt so this year. Hayden will be known more for his surgery than his on field play. Milliner has a metal rod in his leg. Reid and Elam are 2nd round material.

Back to the OL, Lane Johnson and Fisher as top 10 picks is head scratching. I would have hated either at 7 much less top 5. I guess you play the hand that's dealt you but these guys are fringe 1st round talents normally.

There are no skill players that are difference makers. Tavon Austin is a supreme reach. Name the last 5'8 170 pound guy taken in round 1?

Actually it's an extremely deep class. But you have to get out of the first Rd. Where there just wasn't top 10 talent this yr. But guys like Fisher and Cooper are always going to be taken 1st Rd. any yr. Just not top 10. Good news is that Cooper is THE perfect fit for what our team needs at this time. So decent value anyway.

Now is when your gonna say, man this guy is a steal. And your gonna say it in the 4th, 5th , 6th Rds.

They are saying UDFA's are going to make 53 man rosters. Not just a few. Many teams.

And EJ Manuel would have went to Philly today with the 3rd pick. Buffalo and everyone knew it. So they couldn't trade down again, so they pulled that trigger on their #1 QB.

I totally agree Cbus. A MAC guy went #1??? Tavon Austin in the top 10? 2 Guards in the Top 11? 1 QB and No RB's and 2 very suspect WRs???

My cousin is a Seahawk fan and we were talking abouy getting 24 yr old Percy Harvin for the 25th pick. Harvin may have gone #1 in this draft!

The good news is we will get starter caliber players in 2, 3, and 4 assuming we draft right.

You're right. It's deep but just not all that talented when it comes to top end players.

There are going to be some very solid players at non-marquee positions who are going to play in this league for a long time.. they just won't be marquee players.

Cbus, you're not still complaining about Fisher being from a small school are you? Seems just about everyone is pretty high on him. I can't say you're wrong because only time will tell, but crying about it (Fisher #1) won't help your cause. JMO.

Well from the standpoint of skill players it is a poor draft class. It's sort of like a lake with no diving board. The water is great but you just can't make a big splash.

Unless of course you draft a controversial player like Te'o or Mathieu.

People are hating this draft class because there aren't any sexy picks. But there are some very talented players as key positions. Chock full of linemen(both sides). I'm loving this draft. Teams are forced to draft for need and not hype. Smith going in the 2nd round ought to show you that.

The value in this draft lies in the depth. There may not be the star power like Luck or RGIII but there are quality players in this draft that teams can plug in right away. The proof is in the quality of players still available on Saturday. Guys taken today are gonna play, even if they don't right away, they will be quality players in the future.
