1) Better Fundamentals especially on ST(Tackling, kicking, blocking, etc.)
2) No Turnovers for us and Force turnovers
3) win the field position battle..don't put this suspect defense in bad situation after bad situation.
4) Pressure by the front 4 and better creative Blitz packages..anything to disrupt Hasselback from picking us apart...especially on 3rd and long...
5)I'd like to see this team get the lead and keep it..not lose it on a punt return, or a int return for a td

In the end I will take a win anyway I can get it...Let's use the desert heat to our advantage..keep the game close ..wear them down in the end...just win and Sunday's loss will be a bad memory...and week 3 vs. Green Bay won't be so scary....Actually I'm thinking the Green Bay game is more winnable than the Hawks game...

1 . Score more points than the Seahawks in the first quarter
2 . Score more points than the Seahawks in the second quarter
3 . Score more points than the Seahawks in the third quarter
4 . Score more points than the Seahawks in the fourth quarter
5. Win the game

Seriously though. The five things I thought that we sucked the worst at (and therefore need serious improvement) were:

1 - Pass Rush
2 - Run Blocking
3 - Special Teams Coverage
T4 - Kickoff Depth
T4 - Clock/management, recognition of 40 second play clock
5 - Timid-ass defensive schemes with 3 man rush and 8 playing a soft zone.

yeah

I think #1 and #3 would make me happiest if I could only have something that could plausably come about.

I mean, I'm not going to get the star players to decide they'd rather be Cardinals... so lets try no or 1 false start and no delay of game/wasted time outs.

Clock Management
No false start flags
Better play from special teams (coverage)
Change in defensive signals
Better pass coverage

Plus:

Fewer blown plays and turnovers
Better pass rush
Better run defense
Otherwise, just keep doing everything else the way we're doing it.

You know what scares the bejeezus out of me? Aside from #1 (which was not as bad as many believe - the DL got some pressure against Lions/Harrington, the least sacked team in the NFL last year) and #2 which should be alright if the OL can stay semi-healthy; the remaining four points (3, T4, T4, 5) are strictly coaching issues; which as cheesebeef says have been problems for two seasons now. This concerns me more than anything I saw between the stripes on Sunday!

Just to clarify,

I say that #3 Kickoff Depth is a coaching issue because it has been a consistant problem with Gramatica since before his ACL injury! Therefore, the coach needs to make a change.

Gramatica is excellent in the clutch with field goals, but how many realize that the Cardinals actually had a better KICKOFF RETURN AVERAGE than the Lions on Sunday? Watching the game, it didn't seem that way. Because of where the returns started from Lions consistantly had better field position.

Pass Rush
Special Teams Coverage
A kickoff past the 10
Zero false starts and delay of game penalties
The Deep Ball

Oh yeah, and if you can throw in a few free rounds for the North Endzone, that'd be nice.

How about no movement before the dam ball is snapped and getting the plays to the QB so he has time enough to get the team to the line of scrimmage. Maybe even some decent punt and kick return coverage..

1. Efficency from the coaching staff (includes decision-making, relaying calls, preparedness, and confidence [look like you belong, for goodness' sake, Mac])
2. Overall Special Teams play (includes punting [the secret to Carolina's comeback season last year], kickoffs [it wasn't that bad], coverage, returns, blocking, and [most importantly] tackling)
3. Aggressiveness in defensive playcalling (pipe dream, but still)
4. Run blocking (S-O-F-T Offensive line)
5. Performance by starting wide recievers.
